Make Some Vinyl Sticker Valentine Mugs

#Valentine #Gift #TigerStrypesBlog

I wanted to make another craft that was pretty simple (if you have the tools) for Valentine’s Day.  With that holiday being just around the corner, I thought it would be fun to use my Cricut to decorate some simple pieces.  The mugs can usually be found at the dollar store, or if you just have too many in the cupboard – not like I know anything about that! 🙂  Personalizing them with any saying, name or decor is really easy to do, and they were fun to make.

Do you have a Cricut, or have you used one before?  Leave a comment and let me know what you think of them, and a project you hope to try this year.  I sure hope that you like it!! I hope you have a blessed day, and please be sure to comment and share this craft on your social media channels – thanks so much!!

Materials/Tools Used:

  • Vinyl Sticker Sheet
  • Transfer Paper
  • Mugs
  • Cricut Explore
  • Clear Bags
  • Candy
  • Ribbon
  • & Time!

Instructions for the Vinyl Sticker Valentine Mugs:

I started by using my Cricut, to cut out some text for the saying that I would attach onto the mug.

Next, I used some transfer paper to adhere it to the mugs.  Carefully, I peeled away the transfer paper to show the text, making sure that none was bubbled or didn’t attach all of the way.

Here’s what they turned out to look like.  I created a little extra piece for the red one that looked like a tea bag label and attached that more on the site (see 2nd pic).

When I had the mugs completed, I then inserted a clear bag into each one.

Filling the bag up with some candy, I then tied them off with some ribbon to close them up.

Now you can give some coffee or tea loving friends a Valentine gift, that is super easy to make.  Leave me a comment and let me know who you might give one to.

I don’t have a cricut but this is really a marvelous idea for those who do! Even without the lettering putting cellephane in a cup and filling it up with candy is a great small gift to give someone!

I love this idea. My children and I use to buy dollar store cups and add a cellophane, candy and tie with a ribbon for their teachers or other special people, although, your Cricut Explore really kicks that idea up a few notches. I love them. This was many years ago of course. My grandchildren are old enough to do it now.
