Tyson’s Run Movie Preview
I heard about the Tyson’s Run movie and it reminded me of a local kid that was just featured in our mountain newspaper. He is autistic, and ran a 100 mile race recently at the Coldwater Rumble in Goodyear, Arizona. Zach works at a local restaurant, and has overcome so much. Seeing the preview of this Tyson’s Run movie, really made me think of our local hero. I couldn’t wait to watch it. The movie really showcased persistence & faith. I loved how it showed a real family, dealing with real family issues. We all have trials to bear, and races to run. Working together, and forgiving each other, really helps to bring that dream to life.
I really liked the story that it told, and how we can all apply it to our lives. There is no way that I could ever run a marathon like that, but learning to live on this earth with all types of people, helps me be ready for that finish line. I think that we all need to work together as families to raise our kids to see the good in others, to bring out the best for each other and stop the bullying and trash talk. Our world would be such a better place, if we used that negative energy and turned it into that last surge to the finish line.
Who’s with me? Are we running this race together? Here’s your drink of water – you can do it!
When fifteen-year-old Tyson attends public school for the first time, his life is changed forever. While helping his father clean up after the football team, Tyson befriends champion marathon runner Aklilu. Never letting his autism hold him back, Tyson becomes determined to run his first marathon in hopes of winning his father’s approval.
With the help of an unlikely friend and his parents, Tyson learns that with faith in yourself and the courage to take the first step, anything is possible.

It is a great one. I love movies where you’re standing up rooting for the character! 🙂
I love family, feel good movies like this. I’m not a runner, but I so admire those that do run and would happily join you in the race to end negativity and bullying.
I agree! I loved the story of how the other guy helped the main character to reach his goal. There was a lot more to this movie, than just running and the story was great!
This looks like a great movie. My son starts cross country next year, so this may be especially good timing to watch this movie.
How is he old enough for cross country? Awwww!!!! This was a great movie. 🙂
