I recently heard about the new movie called Family Camp, and couldn’t wait to see it. The preview cracked me up, so I figured the whole movie was going to be amazing!! I love being able to watch a movie that you don’t need to worry about sharing with my family, especially young ones. Positive role models, funny situations and none of the negative junk that is so common today.
The actors did a great job to make you feel like you were there at camp with them. Now granted, if I was at camp with one of the main character dudes, I would have probably hid from him, but that’s just me! 😀 I loved all of the different situations, that they focused on. Something to teach the young ones about standing up for themselves, and positive things for different areas of their lives. There were also ways to teach the older generation how to be civil and work together, for what is best in any certain situation. Also, that it’s best to be yourself, and not put up a false front just to please others.
I really liked this movie, even more so than some of the past faith-based ones. Now don’t get me wrong, a lot of those movies have been amazing…but when it comes to the genre of comedy, some can get a bit cheesy. This one had true humor, and really made me laugh! My husband even liked it, and that’s a definite plus. He never even fell asleep! 🙂 I don’t think that I’ve ever seen anything from the Skit Guys before, but I will definitely be following their pages, hoping for more great ones like this in the future. The movie is being released soon, and is a great family event, or even something that would work for a fun date night! Take a look at the preview below, and let me know what you think in the comments.

Two polar-opposite families find themselves sharing a cabin for a week away at camp. With the highly coveted camp trophy at stake, dads Tommy and Eddie end up lost in the woods after a comedy of errors and mishaps.
For Tommy Ackerman, church is a great place to be on Sunday mornings … if he can get his latest work deal closed on the back nine before the service ends. But when their pastor encourages the congregation to sign up for a week away at family camp, his wife Grace believes she’s found the perfect cure for her imperfect clan! That is even if they’d all rather be anywhere but at rustic Camp Katokwah.
Enter the Sanders clan. Dr. Eddie is a harmonica-playing chiropractor who sees himself as a Miyagi-like mentor for anyone who is not as spiritual as he is … which is pretty much everyone!
Soon, Tommy and Eddie are engaged in hilarious top-this battles instead of being focused on their families who desperately need them.
When all appears lost, Tommy and Eddie end up in the deep forest while hiking, truly lost. As everyone at camp desperately searches, the dads are forced to work together to discover a new direction if they hope to find their way back.
A laugh-out-loud comedy, FAMILY CAMP is the first feature film from The Skit Guys—Tommy Woodard and Eddie James. The cast includes familiar faces like Leigh-Allyn Baker (“Good Luck Charlie”), Gigi Orsillo, Cece Kelly (HALT), Robert Amaya (COURAGEOUS), and social media sensation Heather Land. FAMILY CAMP is sure to touch the hearts and tickle the funny bones of every family member from eight to eighty.
About The Skit Guys:
The Skit Guys are Tommy Woodard and Eddie James, who have been best friends since high school. They fell in love with acting through their involvement in the school’s theater productions and discovered they had a knack for making people laugh. When Tommy invited Eddie to church, everything changed. With encouragement and guidance from their youth pastor, the guys started to write and perform skits for their youth group. No longer was it just about making people laugh—their skits now had a bigger purpose.
Since their high-school days, they’ve been writing and performing hilarious and poignant skits live and on camera. Tommy and Eddie have traveled the world performing at events, churches, and conferences. Their numerous short films, skits, and scripts are used in churches all over the world. When The Skit Guys aren’t performing or shooting new short films, both Tommy and Eddie serve in their local churches. They enjoy good food (especially pizza and fries!), and love life with their families.

This definitely looks light hearted and one that will make you laugh. Thanks for sharing to put this on my radar of upcoming movies.
This movie is great for all people!! The humor and life lessons are priceless! 🙂
This is on my list of movies to see with my boys! My middle schooler teases me about my taste in movies, but he’s actually onboard to see this one with me. 🙂
Let them tease you – I’d much rather laugh at a movie, than worry about what my child is seeing! 🙂
So true, so true! It’s rare to find movies with good family values nowadays.
I agree!! Even if they aren’t faith-based, I still want something clean and without bad words every other sentence!
