Christmas Memory Chair Ornament
#TigerStrypesBlog #Ornament #Christmas
I can’t believe it’s already time to plan for Christmas. If you’re like me, you have people in your life that are no longer with you, and you miss them at the holidays more than ever. My Dad passed away years ago (when I was only 17), and the memories of him are always some I hold dear during the Christmas season. Being able to have a memory of someone you love is a blessing. I figured a great way to help yourself, or others through the time is by having a Christmas Memory Chair ornament to display in their honor. I saw the poem online and thought it would be great to turn into a craft for gifts or holiday decor.
I sure hope that you like the tutorial, and pray that you have a blessed day!
Please be sure to comment, and share this craft on your social media channels – thanks so much!!

Materials/Tools Used:
- Small Wooden Chair
- Craft Paint
- Ribbon/Yarn
- Craft Paper
- Cricut or Printer
- & Time!
Instructions for the Christmas Memory Chair:
Start with a small wooden chair. You can find these at craft stores, or even yard sales during the year. Paint it whatever color that you wish, and let it dry.
After that, I used my Cricut to make up some of the hearts that I was going to attach. I am including the poem below, so you can use it to create your own. The piece of paper, can be whatever shape, size, or color that you want. Having some holiday theme paper laying around, I used some to cut out a tree shape to add, as well.
When that was finished, I punched a hole into where I wanted the paper pieces to attach to the chair. To the holes, I added some craft ribbon that I had laying around, making sure it was long enough to feed through both pieces of paper, as well as the chair.
Next, I strung the ribbon through the chair, and tied it into a bow to secure it. I’m sure you’re better at tying a bow then I am, so hopefully you’ll get it just how you like.
Now you can display it wherever you’d like in your home, add a string to hang it as an ornament, or give it to a friend to help them through the holiday.
What do you think? I hope you like it! Please take a minute to leave me a comment on what you would like to create, and maybe if you have any tips on how to do it different, or better!
Be sure to tweet, pin, share, etc. – thanks!!

Thank you.
These are awesome. They would have so many uses like a place card for the table
That would be fun. Then you could give it to the person as an ornament to take with them. 🙂

This is the sweetest holiday tribute I’ve seen in a long time. It made me think of my lost family members. If I find time, I’d love to make this Jamie. Great job!
Thanks Linda. I know that holidays can be hard for some, and it’s nice to have a good memory to be strong with. 🙂 Share it with me, if you make one.
This is so amazing! You are so creative. Love this. I was very close with my Grandmother and this brings back so many lovely memories.
Thanks Heidi. I know this time of year can be challenging for some. Making a memory ornament can help. 🙂
This is a beautiful and wonderful idea! My grandmother was like my mom, but she passed away in 2001 and I still miss her very much. I actually donate Christmas gifts in her honor every year to help others.
Their memories live on, and that’s what is important. ~HUGS~
