Make a Rootin’ Tootin’ Christmas Gift

#Christmas #Gift #TigerStrypesBlog

It’s hard to believe that it’s almost Christmas time.  Here in the mountains of Arizona we are still looking around, saying “where is the snow?”  The weather here has been much warmer than normal and things just don’t feel right.  I did decorate the house to try and make it feel like Christmas, but I need a bit of white stuff on the ground to make it feel right!  How about where you live?

These were really easy to make, and are the perfect gift for friends and/or family.  I saw something like it on Pinterest, and thought it would be fun to try, with my twists on it.  I gave it to some friends, and their smiles made it all worth it!  I sure hope that you like it!! I hope you have a blessed day, and please be sure to comment and share this craft on your social media channels – thanks so much!!

Materials/Tools Used:

  • Can of Beans
  • Can of Root Beer
  • Ribbon
  • Cricut Explore
  • Craft Paper
  • Glue Dots/Tape
  • & Time!

Instructions for the Rootin’ Tootin’ Craft:

I started by taping two pieces of ribbon on the bottom of the bean can, that would be long enough to go over the top part and tie.

Next, I sat the can of root beer on top and tied the ribbons together to hold it all together tightly.

When those were together, I started on the gift tags, using my Cricut Explore.  I had it cut a cowboy hat style piece and write on the wish, to make it easy!

After the pieces were all cut out, I used some glue to attach the colored portion that I had cut out as a rim.

I also used my Cricut Explore to cut out some holly pieces to make the hats look even more festive.  Using some craft tape, I attached those to the hat.

Then, I used some sparkly ribbon that I was able to trim down to one row, to attach the hat to the top of the can.  I added a sticker to the hat to cover up the glued area, but you could do whatever you wanted with that part of it.

Now I had some fun gifts to give to friends for the Christmas season.  It’s always fun to get a laugh and also know that it’s something that they can actually use!  Here’s a photo of the finished project:

This is a cute idea and what is so great is that it is a useful gift. I love that you made the gift tag as a cowboy hat. Very creative.

That’s cute. The only thing I would do differently is to wrap the two cans in tissue paper to add an element of surprise.
