I received the “Veil of Tears – Hope Is On The Way” movie from Elliott with Edify Media, Inc. and was asked to watch the movie and post a review on my blog about it. Opinions are my own and have not been swayed by any company or individual.
At first, I wasn’t really knowing what to expect from this movie. I though it might be like one of those commercials that you see on TV, asking for sponsorship, etc. It was a lot more than that. At first, it did show you the turmoil and different ways of life that most people live in the area of India. But as it went on, it showed how just a few people can make such a difference in so many lives.
Seeing this as a resident of the United States, you don’t realize that there is still this type of living happening in the world today. Women being put on the back burners and being told that they mean nothing. As it says in the movie, “…they feel hopeless, they are just waiting to die.” What a shame. As it says in Galatians 3:28…”There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.” I so wish that everyone would realize that.
No matter how you were brought up, or what you were taught was “right”, you should do your own research to verify what God says about these things. Seeing the stories of the women and the difference in their faces at the end was amazing. You learned about the “Bridge of Hope” ministries and what they do – and I pray that many would try and do the same in any area where they live. I wonder if things like this, might be going on in places we don’t realize, right around the corners from us? Even if you’re not able to help, be sure to be praying for these ministries, as they do so much to change the world!!
Thanks Elliott at Edify Media, Inc. for letting me see this movie and give my opinion of it.
“Veil of Tears – Hope Is On The Way”
On DVD – Narrated by Natalie Grant
This gripping new documentary film tells the untold story of millions of women in India who are culturally oppressed for no other reason than the fact that they are women. However, despite the centuries of oppression, there are those who are reaching out and bringing hope to these women.
These are the faces of true survivors. Those who have withstood a lifetime of adversity in the face of a culture stacked against them. Take a heartfelt journey through the eyes of these women, and others, who unveil their personal stories of persecution, rejection, abandonment, tragedy and even triumph. Get a glimpse of the true resilience of the human spirit and the hope that has changed the lives of millions like these and is helping change millions more.
Narrated by Grammy-Nominated Recording Artist Natalie Grant, this film was shot on-location across the stunning nation of India in some of the most remote tribal villages in the world today. This is a journey where few outsiders have gone before.
While the film, “Veil of Tears”, brings into focus the truth behind a dark reality existing in the world today, we are excited to highlight the hope being given to countless millions of women each day through the work and ministry of GFA.
Proceeds of this film will be donated toward our continued efforts to change lives on a social, educational, health and spiritual level. We invite you to take a moment to learn more about the mission of GFA and how you can be a part of our movement to rescue generations of women from persecution and rejection and into the hope of Jesus Christ.
Changing Villages, One Person at a Time
With the ever-expanding population of people in Asia, the need for aid, education and Jesus’ love is growing day by day. Gospel for Asia is involved in sharing the love of Christ through national missionaries. These men and women missionaries are trained in Bible colleges to share the hope found in Christ. After training, they go to the unreached people of South Asia and share the love of God in the nations they serve. We also minister to children through our Bridge of Hope program, providing education, quality meals and a loving environment to over 60,000 children in South Asia.
For over 30 years, Gospel for Asia has continued to bring aid and hope to some of the most downtrodden people in South Asia.

I’ve been reading a lot about the plight of young girls and women in India, and I cannot imagine living in such an unsafe environment where you are looked at as worthless. I cannot that men are getting away with some of the atrocities they’ve been committing against young girls and women in genera. The statistics regarding rape are astonishing and depressing.
That is a tough question. I cant think of anything right now but anyone can make a difference
