I was asked to review Week 5 for Pure Flix Christmas. There were so many great movies, with wonderful stories for the whole family.  I love that Pure Flix has a mix of genres, and nothing is ever the same.  There are some channels on TV that you know when you watch a movie, it will have some single person who loves work more, goes to a small town and finds the love of their life.  You know what I mean, right?  Most of those are all the same.  Pure Flix always has a mix, and it never gets boring!

The movie that I got to review early, was “Moonrise.”  Wow, what a powerful story.  So many times, we live in the past, and miss opportunities for the future.  There are some times, we need to be thankful for what we have now, and cherish that.  I’m really hoping that there might be a #2 release of this movie, since I’d love to know what happened, after it ended.  All in all, it was a great story with wonderful actors.  The kids in this movie were amazing!  The daughter was a great actress, and really made you feel what she was going through.  The sons made me smile, be proud of them and often laugh.  The Moonrise movie was amazing – I would definitely recommend that one.

I can’t wait to watch more of what will be released during Week 5.  Pure Flix always has some amazing shows and movies.  I do have issues with the streaming often, though.  I’m not sure if it’s just my internet, or that I’m casting it to the TV via Chromecast, but a lot of times it skips a bit.  I’ve gotten used to it, and just blame my mountain internet.  Being able to just stream Pure Flix titles is so worth it, and I’ll deal with it, until our area finally gets something that might be faster than what feels is dial-up! :p Check out the titles included in Week 5 below.  Leave me a comment, of which one you think you’d like to see!

	Christmas has always been an exceptional time of love and tradition in the small town of Trapper Falls, Alaska. Hometown of Mayor Dan Reed (Ted McGinley) looks forward to each year with enthusiasm to all the events, friends and family that fill this special season. Together with his brother Greg (Brad Stine), they dedicate time away from their adventure tour company to drape the town is Christmas cheer. When Dan’s old high school rival Mitch Bright (Daniel Baldwin), a mean-spirited and embittered militant atheist returns home after 20 years, Dan is immediately suspicious. Mitch is a highly successful big city lawyer who has never wanted anything to do with Trapper Falls.  The rivalry re-ignites when the frustrated Mitch takes offense to what he sees as the town’s violation of his rights. Mitch wants the Nativity scene removed from the front of City hall and the word Christmas switched to Happy Holidays on all signs. Fifty years of tradition are now challenged not by an outsider, but a former member of the community.
Country singer Will Brown pushed away his family, fame and faith after his wife’s death. It’s his daughter and a talented horse trainer who show him strength, forgiveness and grace to live life again. Featuring: Granger Smith, Piper Clurman, Sonya Balmores, Kace Winfield, Jaxon Noble Pickens, Houston Rhines, Rose Bianco, Wally Welch
	Take a center-court seat to a journey of transformation as Scott Beck gets a second chance at life and love. Can he let go of past pains and open himself to God’s purpose? Or will new challenges keep him from the future he always hoped for? Featuring: David A.R. White, Nadia Bjorlin, Harry Lennix, Steven Bauer, Robert Amaya, Mark Christopher Lawrence, Stella Parton, Vincent De Paul, Ethan White, former NBA player Marcus Haislip, Leanne Crawford.
Michael Walker (Harry Connick Jr.) lost his Christmas spirit after a family tragedy that occurred when he was a young boy. Despite the efforts of his son, David (Chandler Canterbury); his wife, Susan (Connie Britton); and his mom (Fionnula Flanagan) and dad (Kris Kristofferson), Michael refuses to celebrate the holiday. Musical neighbors (including Lyle Lovett) and the generous gift of the mysterious Nick (Willie Nelson) aren’t enough to combat Michael’s grinchiness until another family tragedy forces him to examine his own feelings about the true meaning of Christmas and family.
	Electric lighting and engine-powered automobiles are heralding a modern era in the small English village of Gladbury, but old traditions, such as belief in the title’s CHRISTMAS CANDLE, endure. Enter David Richmond (Hans Matheson), a young, modern reverend once known for his faith-inspiring sermons and now steeped in doubt springing from the death of his young wife and child. David remains a man dedicated to serving those in need, but his unsettled faith makes him reluctant to leave his charitable work in London and take to a pulpit offered by Gladbury.
Hope for the Holidays is based on the book, “The Talking Tree”, and tells the story of a mother, Georgia, played by Sally Kirkland, who finds out she has cancer. Her son, Danny, played by George Stults, then decides to rob a bank to pay for her medical bills only to get caught and go to prison. While in prison, he is thrown into solitary confinement, but the person in the cell next to him, Mouse, played by Robert Lasardo, turns out to be just what he needed; and the film becomes a race against time for Danny to get out of prison in time to see his mother before she passes away.
	Second chances blossom when a hardened criminal crosses paths with a precocious little girl during the holiday season.
