Make Some Mummy Candleholders

#TigerStrypesBlog #Halloween

I cannot believe that it’s already the end of October.  Where does time go?  With our son almost being 18, the days of trick-or-treating are over.   Well, until we take the Grandkids, but that will be a long, long, …….long time in the future!!  Better be, anyway. 🙂

I wanted to make something easy and fun for decorations this year, and had seen something like this on Pinterest earlier in the year.  It looked simple, and fun!  Leave me a comment, and tell me what you think.  I’d love to know how you would have done it, or a different way to use them.  I sure hope that you like it, and hope you have a blessed day!  Please be sure to comment and share this craft on your social media channels – thanks so much!!

Mummy Candleholders

Materials/Tools Used:

  • Glass Vase
  • Gauze
  • Googly Eyes
  • Battery Operated Candle
  • Glue Gun
  • & Time!

Instructions for the Halloween Mummy Candles:

I started cutting a piece of the gauze that would work to wrap around the glass vase.  I also cut a smaller piece to use as the portion that wraps around the vase.

Using some craft tape, I rolled a few pieces up the center of the vase.  You could use as much, or as little as you need.  I kept it to just a small amount, so I could unwrap it and use this for something else later, but it’s up to you.

When the adhesive was attached, I started rolling the gauze around the vase.  You can trim any bits from the top or bottom, when you’re finished.

After I had that attached, I used that extra small piece that I had cut to tie around the center in a knot.  That helps to hold the gauze on and keep it tight.  You could add as many of these, as you wish.

Now it was time for the eyes.  I have a bunch of googly eyes in my craft closet from past projects and figured I could just use some of them.  I found two (2) large ones and attached them to the top of the vase with a bit of glue from the glue gun.  Be careful to not attach them with the glue too hot, as it might crack the glass.

Almost done….now just add a battery operated candle to the bottom and you’re ready to go.

Just turn the candle on when you want to have the mummy’s glow and you’re set with #Halloween decor.

I hope you like it!  Please take a minute to leave me a comment.  Let me know what you would do different, or what you would add, etc.  Be sure to tweet, pin, share, etc. – thanks!!
