[pullquote align=”full” cite=”-R. For those who want to grow in maturity and wisdom, Evans’ book deserves careful consideration.”[/pullquote]

I received the Wise Guys : Unlock Hidden Wisdom book from FlyByPromotions and wasn’t sure what to expect. After all, I’m not a guy, but figured since I’m married to one and raising one, it might be something beneficial to read. I know the struggles that men have in today’s world and it seems to be getting more and more like the women have experienced for years…the “how can I be better than them” nonsense!

I love how he starts off  with a “Reversing the Trend” topic, and on page 22 it says “Let’s spark a revolution that changes how men relate to each other!  Let’s become a truly multi-generational, arm-linked society of mean who help each other grow, learn and succeed.  Wow – I would love for that to happen for the women, as well.

I love how the author, Kent Evans, said that he wanted to stop competing and start learning from the other guys positive traits. What a great thing to do. I’ve always thought that the world would be a much better place if there were more Proverbs 31 women, how about the men, too? I know that we can all feel inferior, or that we’re not the same as so-and-so, but I’m sure that during different times of the day, they are feeling the exact same way.

Just like 1 Thessalonians 5:11 says “Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.” Can you imagine what a better world this would be if we all just starting helping to encourage instead of challenging each other?

This book is great for any age and even for a youth bible study or home fellowship. I would definitely recommend it to be read by men and women alike, as well. It helps those of us who are Mom’s, understand things a bit better about our sons and husbands.

About the Wise Guys Book:

For guys, more than ever, it’s a confusing world. Your GPS doesn’t offer any maps showing how to get to the point of wisdom — and who likes asking for directions anyway?

But there are ways to get that guidance you need. The answers may be all around you, in the form of guys you already know. Wise guys. More experienced guys. Better-traveled guys. Could there be ways to tap into their invaluable knowledge without enduring dull lectures or taking pages of notes?

Kent Evans has surrounded himself with these wise guys. They have shown him all the back roads on the way to wisdom. With a great deal of humor and an endless supply of stories, he wants to show you how to gather life-enriching truth from the guys in your own circle.
