Make Your Own Rosette Ribbons (#TBCcrafters) 15

Make Your Own Rosette Ribbons

TBC Crafter’s Hop (#TBCcrafters)

With Thanksgiving over, and Christmas coming soon, there is a lot going on!!  I figured that this craft would be great to learn and to have the knowledge about doing for wrapping presents for Christmas coming up.  I went to Walmart last week and picked up all of the supplies and went to work!!  Easy to do and can be personalized with any style, color, etc. to match your wrapping style.

Make Your Own Rosette Ribbons

Materials:
  • Ribbon
  • Scissors
  • craft/florist wire
  • & time!!

Directions:

1.  Wrap the ribbon around your palm eight to ten times.  Remove the ribbon from your hand.

2.  Hold the wrapped ribbon between your thumb and fingers, and use scissors to notch the sides of the ribbon at the center point, cutting through all of the layers.  Make corresponding notches on the bottom half. (If wrapped ribbon isn’t too thick, you can notch all layers at once.)

3.  Wrap florist’s wire around the ribbon, placing it in the groove of the notches and twisting tightly.

4.  Spread the loops out.  If desired, cut two same-length pieces of ribbons for tails, if desired (I didn’t use tails, since the ends of my ribbon served that purpose).  Adhere the bow to the package with double-stick tape!!  All done!!

Thanks for this, you make it looks so easy, believe me if there is a way to mess it up, I’ll find it, but I’m going to give it that olde college try.

Thank you for posting this. I like to make things by hand. It just makes things more special and I never thought to make bows, but I might give it a try this year.

I have always wanted to do this but never could. With these steps I will hopefully be able to make my own bows this year. Thanks for sharing this awesome ideal.
