I pray that you had a blessed Easter, or Resurrection Celebration, last week. Our family celebrated with our church at their service…wonderful music, amazing teaching, a blessing for sure. We then went out to lunch and enjoyed some time as a family. Living in a place where there is none of our family close, I don’t really have to worry about cooking a holiday meal and things like that, very often, which is nice!!
So, now we are getting on with Spring, and I figured that I would make something with that theme for the category. I used some simple things to make this “Cutting Board” Tablet Holder, and think that it’s great to use in the kitchen while you’re cooking, or at your desk to have another screen to use. Whatever you do with it, it’s fun to create!!
I hope you like it!! Have a blessed day, and please be sure to comment on, and share this #TBCCrafters craft on your social media channels – thanks!!
Materials/Tools Used:
- Wooden Cutting Board
- Scrap Wood
- Cutting Saw
- Craft Paper
- Craft Wire
- Word Letter Game Tray
- Glue Gun
- Cricut Explore
- & Time!
Instructions:
I started by using some scrap wood, and cutting it to about 6″ long and 3″ wide. I then made a diagonal cut, to use each as a stand for the back of a tablet holder (made more than one) :).
Next, I painted the stand portion of the wood in the color that I picked (free sample from home improvement store). I also painted the word letter game holder piece the same color. I let them sit for awhile to dry.
After the pieces were completely dry, I used my glue gun to attach the back portion, making sure to have it in the spot that would allow it to stand steadily (be sure to test this out a bit before securing). I also glued on the game piece holder to the front, to use as the “stand” for a tablet.
Then, using my awesome Cricut Explore, I cut some flower pieces, to decorate the front of the holder. Using glue dots, I attached the different colors together for a bit of depth in design.
Once I had finished the amount of flowers that I wanted I glued one to the front of the piece, trimming it to fit.
Next, using some craft wire that I curled around a pencil, I attached more to the top of the board to decorate it with some Spring flowers. I just used some extra pieces to secure the wire into place with hot glue on the back of the board.
Now you can use it to hold your tablet, or even a recipe next to the stove. Whatever you need to do, use it to free up your hands in the kitchen, or any other room, for that matter!! 🙂
Hope you like it! Please take a minute to leave me a comment and let me know what you would do different, or what you would add, etc. Be sure to tweet, pin, share, etc. – thanks!!
