Learn How To Make Sushi Towels

I saw something like this online a few years back and thought it would be so much fun to make.  I found the towels I needed at the Dollar Tree, so they didn’t cost a lot, for sure.  I figured that these would be fun to make!!  I’m one who loves sushi, and have for a long time.  Seeing these just automatically puts me in the place of looking for my chopsticks and trying to mix my soy sauce and wasabi together in the perfect way!! 🙂

These would be perfect to give as a hostess gift to someone who enjoys this cuisine, or as a White Elephant gift at any party!!  They are easy to make and look wonderful when done!!  What do you think of them – do you have someone that would like to have them in their house?  Let me know in the comments below.

I hope you like it!! Have a blessed day, and please be sure to comment on, and share this craft on your social media channels – thanks!!

Learn How To Make Sushi Towels

Materials/Tools Used:

  • Kitchen/Hand Towels (Multiple Colors)
  • Rubber Bands
  • & Time!

Instructions:

I started by putting my kitchen towels down on the floor, completely folded out and each color next to each other.  The colors will go from left to right on how you want the piece to finish.  The color on the far right, will be the center.

Next, I folded each of them in half, being sure that the folded side was facing me.

After that, I folded it again, to make it even thinner.

Now, I began rolling the piece from the right side (which will be the center), making sure to keep it very tight.sushi

As I was rolling it up, I made sure to keep all of the pieces on one side very even.  You’ll have some sticking out on the back, but when you display it, it won’t be seen.

Once it was finished, I wrapped a rubber band around the center.  The rubber band should be a bit small, so that it hides itself a bit when it pulls in.  You can always get one that is the right color, or use some thread and knot it around…I just took the easy route. 🙂

After that, I used my fingers to spread out the pieces a bit to make it a little more detailed.  You can fold pieces under, move them around, whatever you need.

Once you have however many you want done, you can just display them wherever you wish, or like I said, give them as a gift to someone who loves sushi!!

My mom does such wonderful Diy works at home & when I see such creative works here it brings back those memories of how I used to admire her creativity. These Sushi towels looks gorgeous, colorful & have a great finish with high quality materials used all around.
