How To Use Clear Ornaments a Different Way
Grape Decor (#CreateDesignDiscover)
I recently got chosen to try out some great new clear plastic ball ornaments from Seekingtag. I placed my order on Amazon, and the shipment arrived really quickly. There were twelve (12) of them in the box, and they were packaged well, and easy to put together. They were all 2″ in diameter and were made of the heavy plastic material: polystyrene.
I figured that since it was only July, and I really didn’t want to pull a Walmart and start thinking of decorating for Christmas this early, that I would make something different with them. It was really easy to do and didn’t take very long. They turned out great, and matched my vineyard themed bathroom area perfectly. I loved doing something different with the things that you normally only match with one thing. What would you make from them to be different? Let me know in the comments below.
I hope you like it!! Have a blessed day, and please be sure to comment on, and share this craft on your social media channels – thanks!!
Ornaments Into Grapes
Materials/Tools Used:
- Clear Ornaments
- Paint
- Thread/String/Floss
- Fake Leaves
- & Time!
Instructions:
I started by pouring a little bit of paint (using a spoon), into one side of the clear ornament.
Then, I attached the other edge to it, making sure it was tight.
Next, holding it firmly, just shake it up, so that the paint gets on all sides and fully colors the clear portion.
Do this to however many ornaments that you will be using. Then, let them sit to dry overnight.
Now, using some string, or crafting floss, tie a knot onto the one that will be the end “grape”.
Next, using more floss, tie three (3) of them together for the next level of grapes. Do this for all of them, in different sizes to make them look realistic, once they are all attached.
To attach them, sit the three (3) above on the single one and knot the floss from the bottom. Do this with all that you are going to use, and just make sure that they are all secure. Trim the excess string/floss, as needed. Then, using a fake piece of greenery, that looks like the grape leaf, I just knotted that to the top. You could always hang them, if you leave the string. I just trimmed it, since I would be using as shelf decor.
Now, you can just display it wherever you wish!
I hope you like it! Please take a minute to leave me a comment, and let me know what you would do different, or what you would add, etc. Be sure to tweet, pin, share, etc. – thank you!!

These are truly adorable. I love how the paint went on the ornaments evenly. I didn’t honestly expect that to happen. Thanks for sharing this tip with us.
Thanks Crystal – they were fun to make! 🙂
Purple is my favorite color. I love what you made.
Thanks Tara – they were really easy!
That is so pretty and a great idea. As I was watching you do that I wondered what it would look like if you put marbles in a few colors of paint and swirled them around. If I ever come across these ornaments I’ll have to try it. Thanks for the idea!
That sounds like a fun idea – you could end up making them look like a marble! Love it!
This is such a cute idea. I love the way that you break it down so that it’s easy to recreate.
Thank you Daisy!!

What a cute idea! 🙂 I’ve seen preschooler painted ornaments before, but I really like the idea of turning them into something else. Hmm, now you’ve got me thinking.
Oh I like this! What a great idea! The dollar tree always has these cheap icky looking ornaments, and this would be a great project to use them for! Plus I live in the wine valley 🙂 so grapes, wine, perfect ! Ha thanks for the idea!
