“Dancing Through Life” and Enjoying The Steps!
Book Review of “Dancing Through Life: Steps of Courage and Conviction”
I heard about the new book called “Dancing Through Life: Steps of Courage and Conviction” by Candace Cameron Bure from the Icon Media Group. I had watched, and rooted for Candace during the “Dancing With the Stars” show and was really excited to hear what she had to say.
Hearing about the excitement of being on the “Dancing With The Stars” show and how she had wanted to do it for some time, it was great to see her dream fulfilled. Also, being supportive of her standing up for how the dance was done, the outfits that she wore and having the conviction of speaking up about this was amazing. I remember the uproar about her talking about her husband being the leader of the home, and things such as that. As a Christian wife and mother, I was so happy that she stood up for that. The world today thinks that that means you are inferior, or take orders, as in a drill team. That is not the case. We are just walking alongside our husband’s, as they lay the trail. That’s the long and the short of it. God made all of us, none better or more important than the others. Learning to work together, makes the relationship stronger, and your voice that much louder in speaking up for His way.
I loved seeing the photos in the middle of the book, as well. Brought me back to each dance that was preformed, each trail she had to go through, and the fun of it all. Being a wife and a Mom, and getting to live out a dream, was one that the rest of us wife, and mothers, clapped for and lifted her up. Her story was amazing, and one that made you feel as if you were sitting with a friend at coffee, learning about what they had just been able to participate in. Really enjoyed it!
I definitely recommend this book to those who want to live a life that is faithful to the Lord, and their families. Too many people in today’s world, are either scared to speak out, or have unfortunately conformed to the world and are now approving of sinful behavior. We all need to take a stand and stop that. Our world is crumbling and the people in it, that don’t know the Lord, nor live for Him, are going to crumble with it. We must all learn to dance through this life, as well as teach others the steps to be able to join together in heaven in one of the best choreographed displays EVER!
“Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing. Now we ask you, brothers and sisters, to acknowledge those who work hard among you, who care for you in the Lord and who admonish you. Hold them in the highest regard in love because of their work. Live in peace with each other.” –1 Thesselonians 5:11-13
