Make a Table Setting Card Holder From a Fork!
(#CreateDesignDiscover)
I recently saw something like this on Pinterest and thought it would be fun to try. Â They were using theirs to hold photos, which is also a great idea, but I figured it would be fun to change it up and use them as a part of the table setting. Â What a great way to show what is available, if you’re having a potluck, or for showing people where they are going to sit, if you get a bit fancy with your dinners. Â Either way, they can be used for so many things.
We all have those extra pieces of silverware in our drawer, that either don’t match, or we lost some somehow.  This is a good way to make use of those poor things, that always just get left in the drawer.  You could even embellish them with different types of decor at the top, to make them even more decorative.  What would you make from them to be different?  Let me know in the comments below.
I hope you like it!! Have a blessed day, and please be sure to comment on, and share this craft on your social media channels – thanks!!
Make a Table Setting Card Holder From a Fork!
Materials/Tools Used:
- Mismatched Forks
- Pliers
- Printed Cards/Photos, Misc.
- & Time!
Instructions:
Start by bending the two (2) center tines of the fork, until they are almost perpendicular to the outer ones.
Then, put the pliers in the center and open them up to push the two (2) pieces apart a bit. Â If you are able to, you could also use your fingers for this, but be careful!
Â
Next, use the pliers to bend just the tips of the two (2) end pieces. Â These will be used to hold up the card or photo that you are using.
Now, just push down on a hard surface to make it all even. Â If you have trouble with it falling, or not being “square” then just adjust the bends on the tines to make it work.
Next, I just created some cards to use for the appetizer table.
Â
Now, you can just put them out on your table and make it easy for people to see what is available.
Â

These are soooo cute. Love them. You could use $1 forks too.
Thanks Rose!! I got my forks at a thrift store and they were even cheaper than that! 🙂
How cute! You’re right about having mismatched forks. I’ve got a number of them stashed in a drawer. I’m going to give this a try. Thanks for sharing on Snickerdoodle Sunday!
Now you can put those poor lonely forks to a good use! 🙂
Love this idea! I LOVE hosting! So this would be a simple way to dress up the table!
Thanks Amanda – I figured they would be a different spin on the ordinary! 🙂
Oh Ok this is going to be saved! I host thanksgiving every year and this would be awesome!
That’s great, Melanie – I’m glad I could give you an idea. There is a lot you can do to personalize them, or even decorate them more, too! 🙂
These look like a fun idea for a tea party. My son’s school always has a tea party and these would be cute for the table settings.
Great idea – just be sure to maybe dull the fork tips, if you’re taking it near kids! 🙂
What a fantastic idea! This is so creative to use a fork and it looks super cute.
Thanks Daisy – they were fun to make, and could be changed up for anything with a little extra decor! 🙂
What a cool idea for using old forks. I could get several forks at Goodwill to make these.
That is awesome! I would have never thought of doing something like that. I really wish I could think of other creative things like that. Awesome post! Thanks for linking up with #Alittlebitofeverything! Have a great day!
Thanks Stacey – it was fun to make! 🙂
