Audrey’s Children – Movie Review
Remembering when our son was only a year old and having to take him into a hospital for his cleft palate repair, I remember the worry, the prayers and the feelings that having to have your child in the hands of others under a knife brought on. Knowing that this sweet lady wanted to make a way to help parents, and be there for them, made me that much more interested. Even just with the previews alone, you want to hug her!!
I saw online that she had just passed away a few years ago, and really know that heaven gained an angel. I pray that through this movie, her life and what she stood for, can help those that are wanting to help others, even when being hindered by some around them. My hope is that she is looking down from heaven and seeing what her story has brought to so many. Tears, appreciation, respect and love that she had a heart, that was bigger than being told no! I would definitely recommend the movie.
NOW PLAYING!!
About Audrey’s Children Movie:
AUDREY’S CHILDREN tells the untold true story of visionary British physician Dr. Audrey Evans, who burst onto the scene in 1969 as the first female Chief of Oncology at the world-renowned Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Battling sexism, medical conventions, and the subterfuge of her peers, Evans developed the first Neuroblastoma Staging System, co-founded the first Ronald McDonald House for families of patients, and, ultimately, impacted the lives of millions of children and families around the world. Rated PG. https://www.audreyschildren.com/
About Audrey Evans:
Audrey Evans was a British pediatric oncologist who revolutionized treatment for Neuroblastoma, a deadly form of pediatric nerve cancer, from which 90% of patients died in 1970. She also co-founded the Ronald McDonald House Charities. This organization which went on to provide housing support to millions of people across the world. However, as a strong-willed woman, she was considered unconventional and idiosyncratic, and her nature clashed with hospital leaders.
Dr. Audrey Evans was born 100 yrs ago today. She wanted to be known as “a woman who cared” and that care has touched millions, from @childrensphila to @rmhc. Today, we celebrate her lasting impact & the incredible woman she was. Happy 100th Audrey, we carry your legacy forward❤️ pic.twitter.com/LWoWXPwGAX

I was lucky to get to see it as well and loved it. What a wonderful woman! Love her story so much.
Wasn’t she amazing? I wish more would be strong willed like her to bring good to others.
This sounds like a terrific movie and such an inspiration. I love when the movies are based on real events that can inspire us.
I agree. It’s great to see things that really happened.
This is so inspiring! I actually found out how to volunteer at my local Ronald McDonald house too. There is a group of ladies that have a signup to help prepare food and drop it off for families. I just love Ronald McDonald House and all of the love that goes into it. It’s overdue for a movie like this! 🙂
Oh, wow, Daisy – that’s amazing!! Could you imagine how good that would feel as a family with a child there, knowing that people who don’t even know you, care? I wish we had one close to us!! ♡
