I got an email from Momentum Influencers awhile back for the upcoming movie titled The Shift. It sounded interesting, so I signed up to review it. Seeing that it starred Neal McDonough, got me super interested, since I had really respected his character in Yellowstone. All of the main actors were amazing, and seemed to work really well together. I’m going to be honest, I wasn’t super impressed with Sean Astin. I was hoping that his character would be a little more exciting, but it seemed that all he did was eat stuff. Forgive me for that, but I have loved him in past movies, shows, etc. I wish he would have had a better role.
The movie itself, was exciting, but questionable. There were a few times I kind of paused to see if I truly understood what was happening. I knew what the main focus of the show, and characters was supposed to be on (the devil, end times, evil coercion, etc.) but the way some of it was portrayed was just a bit odd. Like I said, the actors were great, the suspense and thinking about what you would do. It reminded me a lot of the show Colony with Josh Holloway (which I loved, too), since it was on surviving with a sick world and being without faith of goodness around you.
All in all, I think if I watched the movie again, I would understand it more. A big thanks to Quinn Gorte with Indee.TV for giving me advice on streaming the video to review. Living in the mountains, we don’t have super fast internet, and I usually get really aggravated with buffering, etc. He taught me some tricks to use with turning off Hardware Acceleration on Google, and watching it in Incognito mode, and that really helped me. I would recommend the movie to those who understand God’s Word, and the end times, etc. Someone being a new believer might be confused and/or frightened by faith watching this movie, that’s just my opinion. Watch the preview below, and let me know in the comments, what you think.
