Surprised by Oxford – Movie Review
When I started watching it, I was amazed at the landscape and architecture of England. It’s a place that I’ve wanted to visit, for most of my life. My Dad’s mom (Nan) was born in England and then immigrated to the United States after being in Wales for many years. That part of the globe just amazes me. The history, the photos you see and knowing that a part of my family actually came from there, and some still live in the country of Wales.
The Surprised by Oxford movie was really interesting. Being able to change your life, from things you used to hold onto is huge. We all have certain expectations and sometimes can mess up our own life’s path with things that we think might happen. This movie shows that sometimes taking that jump can help you get onto a whole new path that is far greater!! I really enjoyed the movie and definitely recommend it!

Through a turbulent friendship with a charming young man, she begins to open herself up to mystery, vulnerability, and love. Based on a true story, this film’s world premiere was at the Heartland International Film Festival in Indianapolis, IN, to a sold-out crowd on Sat, Oct 8, 2022. Carolyn Weber, author of the book whose biographical novel the movie is based upon, was in attendance, along with actor Rose Reid, who played Caro Drake in the film, and other production members.

This sounds amazing. I have always wanted to travel there myself. It looks gorgeous. Sounds like another winning movie!
It had a great story, and really made you think.
I loved the scenery too! I always dreamed of going to Oxford and the beautiful buildings! That path didn’t happen for me, but I definitely enjoy this movie and seeing glimpses into Oxford!
I hope to one day visit….fingers crossed!
