Valentine’s Day Critters
I wanted to make something that was fun and easy for Valentine’s Day this year. This is something that even your kids could help you with, and maybe give one to their friends, teacher, etc. They are pretty easy to make, and if you don’t have a Pom Pom Maker, you can always do this by just wrapping the yarn around your hand, and tying it up to create a Pom Pom that way. Head over here to find out how. This just uses basic materials and can be personalized however you wish. I hope you like it, and would love it if you could share this by tweeting, pinning etc. Thanks, and have a blessed day!
“Valentine’s Day Critters” Craft
Materials/Tools Used:
- Yarn
- Pom Pom Maker
- Scissors
- Pipe Cleaners
- Craft Punch
- Glue Gun / Craft Tape
- Wiggle Eyes
- & Time!
Instructions:
I started by creating a Pom Pom using my Pom Pom Maker. The size and color is your choice.
I then put my son to work using my craft punches to make a circle for a base, and heart shapes for their feet. Again, size and color is up to you.
I used some craft tape to attach the hearts to the circle to use as the feet. Then, I glued the Pom Pom to the base to start creating the “critter”.Once it was secure, and the glue was dry, I began adding the wiggle eyes to the front.Next, using a pipe cleaner, I cut about a 1.5″ piece to be the antenna. With just a bit of hot glue, I attached some more of the hearts, that my son helped me make, and used those to adorn the top.By just adding a small amount of hot glue to the base, I was able to attach them to the top of the Pom Pom.That’s all it took – you can change it up however you wish and have a bunch of little “Valentine’s Day Critters” to enjoy!
Hope you like it! Please take a minute to leave me a comment and let me know what you would do different, or what you would add, etc. Be sure to tweet, pin, share, etc. – thanks!!

[…] Once it was finished how I liked it, I just added in some candy and misc. goodies to use for gifts for my son’s teachers for Valentine’s Day. I also added in one of the little Valentine’s Day critters that I made for our #SCBH2015 craft hop – you can check out that post HERE. […]
These little critters are adorable! Kids could give one to each of their friends with their Valentine card. I love how you made each one different. Very cute idea!
Thanks Mom!! I’m giving them to Dylan’s teachers. You’ll see the box they’ll go in, in an upcoming craft post! 🙂
These crafts are so creative and colorful. They give me some great ideas for activities to do with the kids.
Let me know which ones you try, and send some pix! 🙂
Those Critters are so cute! I can’t wait to make some for myself. I see a lot of crafts I want to try. Thanks for the link up!
Cute craft! I always like homemade crafts, especially the ones the kids make and then I can use for decoration over the years.
Thanks for the awesome link-up. I added my Valentines Day Wreath.
Thanks Carlee – I love it!! Heading over to leave a comment on yours now! 🙂
Cute critters. We just made a pom pom garland and have some pom poms left over. Now I know what to do with them. 🙂 Thanks for the idea!
Those critters looks cute 🙂 These add as a great decor for valentine’s day 🙂
Super cute! I love the red one-eyed one on the top right, I think that one is my favorite 🙂
These are so cute! I think I will have to try this. Maybe include my kids and it can be a Valentines day craft for the whole family.
I love pom pom critters. So fun and an easy project too.
