saving

I recently got to see the “Saving Christmas” movie before it was released to the public and really liked it.  There was so much great information, that a lot of people might not even know apply to Christmas.  In today’s world of everyone wanting to be politically correct and not offend anyone and never use the word Christmas, some meanings get left behind.

Something I learned from a teaching awhile back really kind of make me laugh, saying that all of these people who are trying to be politically correct, etc. by saying “Happy Holiday’s” are still basing the day on Christian values.  Holidays comes from Holy Days, so even though they think they are making it savingsomething for those who don’t believe, God is still putting His fingerprints on it in that way.  I love how God works.

This movie really lets us know that there are two sides to the story, but they can come together for the worship of the Lord.  Some people think that Santa is an evil thing, but this movie really puts a light on to who Saint Nicholas truly was – a man after God’s heart, in wanting to give gifts and bless others…just as God did, by giving His son to die on the cross for our sins, so that we may have eternal life through Jesus Christ, our Lord.

I would definitely recommend seeing this movie when it comes out.  Laura Beth from FlyBy Promotions Blogger Network really blessed us in allowing us to see it, due to the movie probably never coming to our area.  We live in a very small town and the local movie theater doesn’t like to show things like this, and the cost for us to bring it here just outweighs our budget. 🙁  We were so glad to be able to watch it last night and be able to share our thoughts on it and encourage you to go see it, if your movie theater allows.

savingAbout The Movie:

This Christmas, have your family join with Kirk Cameron’s family and dive headfirst into all the joy, dancing, celebration, feasting, imagination, and traditions that glorify the true “reason for the season.” KIRK CAMERON’S SAVING CHRISTMAS is an engaging story that provides a biblical basis for our time-honored traditions and celebrations, and the inspiration to stand strongly against a culture that wants to trivialize and eliminate the faith elements of this holy season. So take in the splendor; take in the majesty; take in the story. Take it all in… and let’s put Christ back in Christmas! KIRK CAMERON’S SAVING CHRISTMAS is in theaters for a limited engagement beginning November 14 for two weeks only!

He is also known for his memorable roles on ABC’s Growing Pains, the Left Behind kirkheadshothighres2-smallermovies, and co-host of The Way of the Master television series. Kirk spends much of his time producing new television and film projects and speaking to people around the country, teaching them how to share their faith and live out a gospel centered marriage and family. Kirk and his wife Chelsea are the founders of Camp Firefly, a camp for seriously ill children and their families. Together, they live in California with their six children. Kirk was not raised in a church-going home and describes himself as an atheist from a very young age. By the age of 14 he was so convinced there was no God that he laughed at those who said there was. But that all changed one afternoon as he sat in his sports car pondering the first Gospel message he had ever heard.

I can help in saving Christmas by making sure that I take the time to smile and tell people Merry Christmas when I’m out and about.
