“Recycled Rake Decor/Arrangement” #TBCCrafters Hop
I love to recycle things in to something new. If you have an old rake that no longer is working for you, you can “upcycle” it into some decor for your home or yard. I really wanted one of the older looking ones, but didn’t have one and couldn’t find one at the thrift stores up here, so I just did with what was available. This is a really simple thing to make and could be redone for whatever season it is, or where you will be displaying it, etc.
I hope you like it!! Have a blessed day, and please be sure to comment on and share this #TBCCrafters craft!!
“Recycled Rake Decor/Arrangement” Craft
Materials/Tools Used:
- Old Garden Rake
- Floral Arrangment
- Wire Cutters & Wire
- Ribbon
- Scissors
- & Time!
Instructions:
Begin by finding a rake that isn’t working anymore (broken handle, etc.) and clean it up, as needed for the project. You could even paint it a different color if you wanted to.
Next, using your wire cutters or screwdriver (whatever is needed) remove the pins that hold the handle in place. Discard the broken pieces.
Insert your floral arrangement, however you wish and be sure to clip the pieces that are longer then the handle. Be sure to use a few of these and have them tightly inside, so that they don’t fall out.
Next, using a bow that you already have, or make (like I did with my Bowdabra), you can then decorate the handle.
Just attach the bow with wire or glue and hang where you wish to enjoy!
Hope you like it! Please take a minute to leave me a comment and let me know what you would do different, or what you would add, etc. Be sure to tweet, pin, share, etc. – thanks!!

I love this! It is so original and intuitive.
Thanks, it’s a fun way to make something new of something old! 🙂
That is so lovely, where do you have it hanging? I could totally see the “rake” in gold too! Beautiful!
Thanks Rose – I actually have it hanging on the side of the house in the garden area. Didn’t have a place for it inside, but will probably hang it on the porch next year. 🙂
