Living in the White Mountains of Arizona, we know a lot about what is going on in our area. Doc has been one that has been around here for awhile.  He’s built a name for himself as a talented guy in movies, books, podcasts, and more. When I heard about the new series that he was coming out with, I thought it sounded exciting.

Doc said that the story was focused more for young adult, but I guess being a kid at heart, the book was one that I really enjoyed. Great story, fun ideas of after-school activities, true friendships and normal life drama. You read about the characters dealing with bullying, training and doing well in school. It really touches all sides of the coin with growing up and left a good mark on how you deal with such things.

I loved some of the main characters, and cannot wait to see what happens in the next books of the series. I really want Jett’s coach and his Mom to get together. Their story would be a good one to see how they both could move on from hardship and build a great life together. Just a hint, Doc. 😉 I don’t know the story line of his next books of the series, so fingers crossed.

All in all, I was really impressed with the book and story. There were some parts in it, that you felt like you were reading a movie script in the way that it was written, but it never took away from the story at all. Made you kind of feel like part of the film crew reading over what was going to happen on stage. There also were some typos, but in the beginning, Doc writes about this happening and not really having someone to help him proof read it. Hit me up with the next one, Doc. I’d love to be able to read it early and help with grammar, and spell checks! 🙂

Again, I would definitely recommend these books for young adult to older. I haven’t read a book so fast in a long time, and when I had to put it down to take care of some things around the house, I was excited to get back to reading it. Haven’t felt that way about a story in awhile. Very impressed, and would recommend!

About the Book:

JettFIRST-EVER INDOOR SKYDIVING NOVEL AND SOON TO BE FEATURE FILM, TAKES FLIGHT: “FLY: THE RISE OF JETT PARKER” SOARS INTO BOOKSTORES

Author Doc Skinner introduces readers to the exhilarating world of indoor skydiving in this groundbreaking coming-of-age adventure.

SHOW LOW, ARIZONA – June 7th, 2025 – 1028 Productions & Entertainment L.L.C. announces the release of “FLY: The Rise of Jett Parker,” the first novel ever written about the thrilling sport of indoor skydiving. Written by entertainment industry veteran Doc Skinner, this compelling coming-of-age story follows 15-year-old parkour prodigy Jett Parker as he discovers a new passion after a dream-ending injury.

“FLY: The Rise of Jett Parker” introduces readers to an exhilarating sport that has never before been featured in fiction. When Jett Parker’s dreams of parkour stardom are shattered by a devastating knee injury, his family’s move to Arizona seems like the end of his athletic aspirations. That is, until he discovers iFly, an indoor skydiving facility where gravity becomes optional and new dreams take flight.

“Having jumped out of a plane myself at 18, I’ve always been fascinated by the sensation of flight,” says author Doc Skinner. “But it wasn’t until I witnessed indoor skydiving that I realized this incredible sport had no presence in fiction.
The novel, the first in the trilogy, authentically portrays indoor skydiving, which has already garnered praise from the skydiving community. Readers follow Jett’s journey as he trains under the guidance of mentor Skyler for the prestigious Wind Games, facing off against local champion Ryker Hamilton in a rivalry that tests both his skills and character.

Through partnerships with iFly, the world’s largest indoor skydiving company. “FLY: The Rise of Jett Parker” The movie will be co-produced with iFly, their first feature film production. The intent is to sell the book version to raise funds for the film version and have it played worldwide. The book version in hardcover, paperback, and E-book is available through Amazon and the author’s website (https://1028-productions.com).

The book carries a powerful message for young readers, which has been Doc Skinner’s motto for years on his former online show 1028 LIVE: “If we all lift each other up, we will all rise together.” This theme of good sportsmanship and mutual support runs throughout the narrative, making it an ideal read for young athletes and adventure seekers alike.

“FLY: The Rise of Jett Parker” is available in paperback ($14.99), hardcover ($19.99), and e-book ($9.99) formats. Future releases will be Part 2, “FLY: Dancing with Gravity,” and Part 3, “FLY: Orbital Control.” The books will be translated into 28 languages, and a comic book version of the story, known as a graphic novel, is in development.

About the Author:

Doc Skinner is the President of 1028 Productions & Entertainment L.L.C.  He brings over 30 years of entertainment industry experience as an author, multiple award-winning screenwriter, producer, director, and actor. His company, 1028 Productions & Entertainment L.L.C. is dedicated to creating inspiring content that uplifts audiences of all ages.

Doc’s no fool. He knows it’s not just about telling a story, it’s about telling a story that matters. Fly is all about community, resilience, sportsmanship, and lifting each other up, both literally and metaphorically. It’s got enough twists and layered character development to keep it feeling fresh across a trilogy, with Jett growing up right alongside the audience, much like Harry Potter did.

And if that wasn’t enough, all three scripts have already won awards. (You know how rare that is? Most trilogies can barely get a second film that doesn’t tank, and he’s already batting a thousand before the cameras even roll.)

He’s currently working with iFly, the indoor skydiving company.  He’s in talks with one of the top 3 studios, so yes, big studio eyes are watching closely. They’re paying attention because Doc is basically offering them a golden goose dipped in Red Bull.
