Experience SEA LIFE in the Desert! (Tempe, AZ)
Have you heard about the new attraction in the desert of Arizona? It’s an aquarium – can you believe it?!?! How many times do we hear about people visiting the ocean, and talking about all of the amazing things that their family got to see? Well, for those of us here in the areas that are not near the ocean, now we can see it in the valley of the sun!!
My family and I live in the White Mountains of Arizona, which is about 4.5 hours from Phoenix, but that is still a short drive, compared to driving all of the way to the sea!! My family has visited some of the other aquariums attractions when we lived in California, and loved the one located in Long Beach, CA and the Monterey Bay Aquarium is also a great place to visit. Hearing what I have about the new SEA LIFE in Tempe, it is definitely worth the drive. The pictures online, make me that much more interested in going with my family!!
I love knowing, too, that SEA LIFE Conservation works hard to protect our oceans and the life that lives within it. Whether the threat is man made, due to population changes in the wild, or an effect of climate change, they take action! In addition, SEA LIFE Arizona is partnered with the SEA LIFE Trust! The SEA LIFE Trust is a registered charity (no. 1149058) who works globally to protect the world’s oceans and marine life. Things like that makes buying a ticket worth so much more!!
We finally got the chance to visit and experience the Sea Life Aquarium and loved it!! It was fun to find out about the animals that were being housed there that were given help and able to stay alive. I loved the turtle. There was a movie when you first walked in and told about him and all of what this great company does. It was amazing to walk into a mall of all places, especially in Arizona and feel like you were at the ocean – we loved it! Here are some photos from our trip.
SEA LIFE Arizona provides guests with tons of fantastic events, talks, and feedings throughout the year! Have you participated in our new underwater ray feedings? Every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday at 1:00 PM, SEA LIFE Arizona aquarists dive into our 160,000 gallon ocean display and feed our wonderful rays. Come out and see what the excitement is about!
In addition to Underwater Ray Feedings, SEA LIFE Arizona displays a traveling exhibit annually. For 2015, SEA LIFE will have the Octopus Hideout on Display until December of 2015.

Nothing is better than the Aquarium! I love to go, it’s the perfect adventure for any age 😀
It definitely looks like a fun place to visit – I got my tickets and can’t wait!
How neat! We’ll definitely check it out when we’re in the area.
There are some in different areas, as well. Just search for it online and you’ll find one in Florida, North Carolina and more!
I love aquariums and our city’s working on getting one, too. I helped volunteer for a fundraising event for it so I’m hoping it goes through. This one in Arizona looks amazing and that’s funny about the pumpkin carving under water, I’m sure that will be cool to see!
That would be amazing if you guys could get one. They are some of the most beautiful places to visit! 🙂
My daughter and I just recently visited the location in Orlando. I love how interactive the exhibits are and how the entire family can enjoy the experience.
How fun!! I can’t wait to visit this one. It’s a few hours away, but we’re definitely going to head there soon!
We have a few of these types of aquarium locations around here and I really enjoy the one near Tampa. It looks like they really try to educate and treat their sea life with respect and give they large tanks and don’t over crowd. This looks like a great one to visit. Loved the photos you choose to share.
All of these aquariums are such great places to visit with family. Beautiful to see, great to learn from and memories to be made! 🙂
This sounds like a great place to visit. I love looking at sea life.
It’s always so beautiful!! For us in AZ, it’s about the only chance we get to see it, is in places like this!
