Dogs Deserve Better…Do You Agree?
I recently heard about the “Dogs Deserve Better” organization from the company that I worked with for the Susie’s Hope DVD. Click here to see my post on the “Susie’s Hope” DVD. I always love to be a part of something that will help an animal that has no control over what is done to it. Seeing stories of abuse and living in an area, where people regularly just drop their animals off at the side of a dirt road, just hurts my heart. Learning what we can do to make a difference is something that I love to find out, and share!
The “Dogs Deserve Better” organization, is a First Place Winner of the Chase Pet Protector Award, and is a voice for chained and penned dogs, whose sadness speaks only through the eyes. As the days become years, many of these dogs sit, lay, eat, and defecate within the same 10-foot radius. Chained by the neck, they exist without respect, love, exercise, social interaction, and sometimes even basic nourishment. They live as prisoners, yet long to be pets.

I remember participating with my mom and our family dog in the “Dog Jog” to raise money for local NPOs. –My mom grew up on a farm and all different kinds of pets and animals around her, and has always been a big advocate for animal rights. I can remember when I was grade school– she somehow got hold of some life-size models of animals (from PETA or the ASPCA, maybe?) that could be used in the classroom as an alternative to animal dissection.
