We Have Such a Good, Good Father

“Songs like this don’t come along that often … I remember my wife she played it for me and I just looked at her and went ‘this song is incredible – this is amazing.'” – Chris Tomlin

I just heard from FlyByPromotions that Chris Tomlin was releasing his new song “Good, Good, Father”. Once again, Chris hit it out of the park. There is nothing better to sit and listen to an artist, either online or on the radio, where you feel that you are in a worship service at your church and being able to lift up the voice of believers to the Lord.

This song is amazing and is so true!! We have such a great Father in our lives and I’m blessed that He calls me His daughter. When I lost my biological Dad when I was 17, before I knew the Lord, I didn’t really understand how that hole could be filled. Once I had accepted the Lord and asked Him into my heart, that hole was gone. I definitely still miss my Dad, but knowing that I will see him again in heaven helps me to stay strong and wait patiently.

Chris’ song “Good, Good Father” lets us remember who is our true Father and know how much He loves us and how just by singing, or talking to him…it’s music to His ears!

About the Song:

“Good Good Father” brings the simple truth of God’s love to people all over the world. The song, written by Pat Barrett and Tony Brown, finds its roots in Tony’s story of growing up without a dad. The only person he’s ever called father, in his life, is God. The song has additional nuances too – often resulting in a myriad of experiences for each person who hears it.

In the “Behind The Music” on Air1, we got to listen in as Chris Tomlin and Pat Barrett reveal their personal stories. They share how the song resonates with each of them – as children of God and as a father to their own children.

“We all have a picture of who we think God is. When we get down to the foundation of what we believe, the truth is that God is exactly who He says He is – a good, good Father.”
