To Joey, With Love – A Movie About Life, Love & Hope
#ToJoeyWithLove #TigerStrypesBlog

joeyI got to watch the new To Joey, With Love movie before it was released to the public and I have just one word…AMAZING. I love seeing how one person can leave such an amazing mark on this world, even in just a short time. I love how Rory can take this sad part of his life and turn it into a bright picture in our eyes of life, love and hope. I love seeing how family is so important and how your words can reach so many!

Joey & Rory were ones that I had never really heard of much in the past. I did hear some of their songs being played on the radio, and online. I really enjoyed their sound. When the news came out of Joey’s sickness, it was close to my heart and I tried to pray often. God obviously had bigger goals in mind than to keep her here on earth. I can imagine the amazing music that they must be enjoying up in heaven. The angels and Joey, singing in harmony together in God’s love! Again…amazing!

This movie was one that I was kind of worried about watching at first. Was it just about the struggles? Was it just about the treatment? Not at all!! It was a story of their life together, how things happened and the miracles that transpired in just a short time. It was a story of love. Two people finding God’s grace and using their music to spread His love and strengthen theirs. It was a story of Hope…when at times, when you’re going through trials, you don’t remember that you have.

The #ToJoeyWithLove movie is amazing! Check out my #TigerStrypesBlog review at Click To Tweet

All of us have probably lost someone WAY TOO EARLY in life, or known someone who has. Did that person leave a mark, that will continue to be seen in years to come? Did they have a family that will continue to feel them there with them, even when it’s through the tears….or smiles? I know losing my Dad when I was only 17 (he was 43) was a very hard time in my life. Now, 24 years later there are still times that I think of him, or smell his cologne. Even simple things that I do during the day, I’ll remember him doing. Those memories live forever. Being able to take the bad things that happen and turn them into good is a must!

Rory did a great job of doing that, with this movie. Seeing their personal life and the marks that they made in just a few years, that will live on forever is a blessing. Knowing that their amazing daughter will grow up and know that her Mom was loved by many!! And for her to see that she was a blessing for the viewers to get to know, while watching the movie! The whole family is one that I can’t wait to hug when I walk through the gates of heaven. To thank them for the way that they turned something that could be dark into a movie that was so full of light!! Thank you Rory for allowing us to be a part of your “extended” family.

About the Movie:

Husband-and-wife singing duo Joey+Rory wanted more to life … so they chose less. In preparation for the birth of their child, the couple simplified their lives by putting their music career aside and staying at home, planting roots deep in the soil of their small farm, and the community they loved.

They believed God would give them a great story … and He did.

Coming to DVD and On Demand December 20 (and Digital HD December 9), experience the incredible true story of Joey and Rory Feek in the poignant new film TO JOEY, WITH LOVE. Intimately filmed by the couple over two and a half years, the movie documents the stirring journey of the 2010 Academy of Country Music Top New Vocal Duo.

TO JOEY, WITH LOVE takes moviegoers from the birth of their daughter Indiana, who was born with Down Syndrome, through Joey’s struggle with and ultimate surrender to cancer—all amidst their never-ending hope in something far greater. God gave Joey+Rory a love story for the ages, one that is sure to inspire hope and faith in all who experience it.

About Joey & Rory:

Joey + Rory was an American country and bluegrass duo composed of singer-songwriters Rory Lee Feek (born April 25, 1965) and Joey Martin Feek (September 9, 1975 – March 4, 2016), who were husband and wife. Both members of the duo were vocalists and songwriters, with Rory also playing acoustic guitar. Rory Lee Feek had written singles for other artists prior to the duo’s foundation. The duo was the third-place finalist on CMT’s competition Can You Duet in 2008. The duo recorded eight studio albums for Vanguard Records and Farmhouse Recordings and charted three singles on Hot Country Songs.
