What do you and your family do for the holidays? I know that my son loves to go to the local corn maze with friends to enjoy time around Halloween. We have family coming to visit for Thanksgiving this year, so that will be exciting. Living so far away from everyone, it’s nice to plan on seeing them for the holiday.
For the Thanksgiving craft, I wanted to share my Brown Bag Turkey with you. The original craft post is over at https://www.tigerstrypes.com/brown-bag-turkey/, so click the link, and head over there for full details. This is a great thing to make for parties and fill it with popcorn, like I did, or even candy for the family to share. You could do whatever you wanted with it. You could even fill it with veggies for the non-meat eaters in the family…what?…just thinking of alternate ideas!! ha/ha
Here’s what it looks like when it’s done:

no worries, its just on the form,a daily comment is needed. As long as you know it’s there. I dont have a problem 🙂 You know its like everyone just has plastic bags in our town? I might have to try this with a smaller bag!
Good idea! You’re welcome to just leave your email on the form and not put in a comment every day. I know you’re doing it, so you’re good! 🙂
Hubby tried making one he thought he was clever. Lets say I will be trying later 🙂

Thank you, Carolsue – you can always be creative. Start simple and see what you love to do!
That would be adorable!
We will definitely have crafts to make at Thanksgiving. This is a great idea.
Sounds like fun! 🙂
Just make sure you don’t tell them what’s inside, until after dinner! 🙂
Great idea, Ellen Beck! You could even have the littles make them for everyone while they are waiting for dinner!
I agree, definitely going to try that this year!
What a fun idea. We have started incorporating board games or card games after our meal. Thanks!!
That sounds like fun!
My kids would enjoy making something like this!
It would be a great family craft time!
I think these would be fun made smaller too (if you could) and have them on each place setting.
Hey, that’s an idea!!! Fill it with candy and let them take it home. 🙂
Now I’m wondering how hard it would be to make a GIANT one out of the lawn and leaf bags….hmm…
Great idea, Melinda!!

I love the idea of filling the brown bag turkey with popcorn. Perfect for snacking while waiting for dinner to be served.
For sure, Linda – some people have even said to use it as a pinata – that sounds like fun, too! 🙂
Thanks Ellen – it was fun to make!
Thanks for the giveaway!
You’re welcome.
This looks like great fun. You could even tie it up like a pinata, and let the kids have some real fun!
That’s a great idea!
I agree – even if you filled it with things to do, or something else, it would work great.
Found it on Twitter! I haven’t done a brown bag turkey in years!
They are so easy, and so much fun!!
I love the brown bag turkey. I will be making one with my grand daughter
I’m so glad that you like it. They are sure fun to make! 🙂
That’s a great idea!! Perfect for an appetizer table! 🙂
This is so cute. Thanks for the chance.
Thank you, and you’re welcome!
I really like that Brown Bag Turkey! I would fill it with, well not fill, I would put some candy in it and use it as entertainment for the kids at Thanksgiving. That way my daughter couldn’t say no. Besides she wouldn’t know what was in it til the kids had it in their hands. Even she can’t take candy from a toddler and what is fair for one is fair for the other three. Hehee
Oh, Gladys – you have me laughing so hard!! I cannot wait until I can do what our parents do with our son, to his kids!! ha/ha
What a great giveaway!!
It sure is – good luck!
This is such a cute idea, I can’t wait to make a brown bag turkey with my kids!
It’s a fun project for sure!
What a cute craft!
Thanks Rachel – it was fun to make! 🙂
That is pretty cool looking.
Thank you!
Winner Winner Chicken, err Turkey Dinner!!!

Hey, that’s a great idea, Melinda!! Definitely would make the time fun for everyone! 🙂
