I received the RUKI Spiralizer Vegetable Slicer from the company to test out and give my opinion on.  I had seen other products like this, and had never tried one before.  Never hearing of this company and getting the chance to finally try one out, I figured it would be fun.

I placed my order on Amazon, and received my product really quickly.  The package wasn’t sealed very well and it’s a miracle that it even arrived, but hopefully that was just a fluke mistake, and if you order one, it will be secured better.

I tried it out on a carrot, to see about making a fake spaghetti.  It was kind of hard to get started, and the cap that is supposed to hold the vegetables down, in my opinion, didn’t work very well.  I ended up just using my hand, but would advise to keep extra cautious on this, as your fingers could become part of the noodles, if you aren’t careful.

Here’s what it turned out to look like – some of the “noodles” were almost a foot long, so it did work pretty well.  You just have to learn to kind of go slow and make sure that you are evenly turning your vegetable to get a uniform cut.  I would love to try it on zucchini, or something a bit less coarse, to see if it makes it easier.

This would be great for using as a decor tool for brunches, etc.  Makes a really pretty end product that could be curled up and even drowned in ice water to hold its shape.  I’m definitely going to try using it for a pasta makeover and see if my family enjoys it!!
