Peoria, AZ (December 3, 2016) – The Redneck Edition Racing team loaded up and headed for Peoria on December 3rd for the Christmas Grand Prix, and final race of the 2016 season. This was only a one day race, and being about 4 hours away, we decided to just haul the RzR on the flat bed and not worry about camping. The trip was long, but when we finally found the place (thanks to GPS), it turned out to be a great track. There were a whole lot of vehicles set to race. Being close to the valley, more people were able to come out and have some fun.
The track had a motocross type area, and then had the guys running in a power line field. Some spots were very open, and other turns there was really no room to pass. This was our son DJ’s first time to be the driver of the race vehicle and not just a spotter. He did a great job!
There were some great spots for those that were brave (or something else) to get some air. The hills were set up pretty good and made the takeoff and landing turn out really well for some.
The guys had a fun time and took 1st place in the race! We were super proud of our son for doing a great job driving the #54 Redneck Edition RZR and learning the ropes to get ready for next year. AZOP once again, did a great job in setting up a fun event in a great area. The weather was decent and we all had a lot of fun.
Here are some photos of the parking/camping area that we visited in Peoria:
There was some great competition in the 900 UTV class for this race. Our friend, Eric with Wormhole Racing ended up breaking and had to push it back to the pits. His Dad, Hal in the 800 class took 1st place. It’s always fun for our Redneck Edition team to visit with them.
So at the end, my R.E. Racing guys took 1st place, and clinched the #1 position in series points for our 900 class! Way to go!! We’re set to enjoy the final awards ceremony in the valley in a few weeks, and can’t wait to take home that #1 for the 2016 season. You can find even more pictures of all of the events are on our Redneck Edition Facebook page – be sure to check it out!
Big thanks to our great sponsors:
