Make a “Redneck Docking Station”

#CellPhone #Auto

This weekend we have family camp with our church, so I was very limited with time to figure out something for the #TBCCrafters post this week.  Saw something like this awhile back and thought I would give it a try.

Nowadays, you see cell phone docking stations in all makes, colors AND high prices, so I figured hey – you can fix everything with duct tape, right?  Why not make this for the car? 🙂

I hope you like it!! Have a blessed day, and please be sure to comment on and share this #TBCCrafters craft!!

Materials/Tools Needed:

  • Large Binder Clip
  • Rubber Bands
  • Pliers
  • & Time!
Redneck

Instructions:

I started by using the pliers to bend the tips of the binder clip inward.  It was pretty hard to bend.  Next time, I might just put it in the vise in the garage and skip this step.  Shhh…don’t tell 🙂  You might have to play with this a bit, depending on your phone size, etc.  It took a couple tries, but I wanted to make sure that once it was finished, my phone was secured and I would not have the worry of it falling out while I was driving. Redneck Once I had the ends bent inward, I put the rubber band around them.  Be sure to have the clip this way, so that the band helps keep it closed up around the phone, when it’s inserted. Redneck After I had that attached, I just found a spot on my vent in the vehicle where I wanted the phone to hang, and clipped it on. Redneck Now, just insert your phone between the bent ends and voila, “Redneck Docking Station“.  Take that high-enders!! You might want to waste your money on the ones with a brand name, but I prefer to spend mine elsewhere – plus, this one only cost about $0.50!!! I sure hope you like it!  Please take a minute to leave me a comment and let me know what you would do different, or what you would add, etc.  Be sure to tweet, pin, share, etc. – thanks!!

You might be a redneck if: It never occurred to you to be offended by the phrase, ‘One nation, under God..’
