“This movie will make you laugh, cry, and think! LIFEMARK didn’t shy away from the hard parts of adoption. For many years there has been negative stigma around adoption, but LIFEMARK shows the beauty, sorrow, and redemption that can happen through a brave, selfless decision. Well done!”

– ROBYN CHAMBERS (EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, FOCUS ON THE FAMILY)

lifemarkI heard from Jean with Momemtum Influencers about the new movie LifeMark, and was so excited. I had heard something about this movie on social media, and a post from Alex Kendrick when it was just in the beginning stages. Mark your calendars, because it’s being released on September 9th. The whole cast was amazing, and I never even knew that Kirk Cameron was in it. I loved seeing a story like this from all different sides of the adoption process.

The main topic of the movie again is adoption, and the value of life itself. One of the quotes in the movie from Melissa was “I just want to do what’s best for the baby.” In today’s world of everyone being out for themselves, and making bad decisions for an outcome that could have been avoided, if they would have followed proper steps, it’s great to see a storyline from the other side. Seeing how precious life is, and how hard it can be for some to make a decision to offer a baby a better life. I was so impressed with how the characters were portrayed, and the bond that held them all together.

My husband and I have one son, and tried to adopt years ago, but without us being able to come up with WAY TOO MUCH money, we were just out of luck. I so wish that it was easier to adopt and give a home to a child in need. Our world makes it way too easy to end a pregnancy, and a lot harder to offer a child to one who might not be able to experience it. I was very impressed with how the adoptive family was so open to their son learning more about his biological parents. That to me, showed that they had extreme pride in what they did and what their family meant. I don’t know how I would feel in their situation, but was super impressed with how they handled everything.

All in all, this movie was amazing. Being that it comes from a true story, meant even more. I pray that in the future, children that are adopted will feel less embarrassed to share their stories, and more confident in knowing that they are so special, that many different people love them…even some they may have never met. About the LifeMark Movie:

David’s comfortable world is turned upside down when his birthmother unexpectedly reaches out to him, longing to meet the 18-year-old son she’s only held once. With the encouragement of his adoptive parents, David embarks on a journey of discovery.  It leads to a staggering truth from his past. From executive producers Kirk Cameron and the Kendrick Brothers—creators of War Room and Fireproof—comes LIFEMARK, inspired by an incredible true story that celebrates the gift of life.

WHY PG-13?
LIFEMARK recently received a PG-13 rating from the Motion Picture Association for “Thematic Elements.” Because the true story that inspired LIFEMARK revolves around the decision a woman makes while in an abortion clinic, the movie shares her experience. Nothing shown or discussed is graphic. As with any movie, we would suggest parents watch the movie for themselves to decide what’s best for their family.
