“Holiday Spice Ornament” #TBCCrafters Hop
I found these clear plastic ornaments a Walmart and thought it would be so fun to make something for my friends for the holidays. I had seen where someone had put in the fake snow, etc., but I wanted to do something a bit different. I figured that most people I know cook and use spices, and figured that this might be a fun thing to give as a gift to them during the holidays. Have you ever made something special from a clear ornament? What was it?
I hope you like it!! Have a blessed day, and please be sure to comment on and share this #TBCCrafters craft!!
“Holiday Spice Ornament” Craft
Materials/Tools Used:
- Clear Plastic Ornament
- Herbs & Spices
- Sea Salt
- Cricut Explore Electronic Cutting Machine
- Scrapbook Paper
- Thin Rope or Ribbon
- & Time!
Instructions:
Start by removing the tops of the ornaments and sitting them in a box or something that will hold them up, as you insert the ingredients. I started with an Italian Seasoning, but you are welcome to use whatever you wish.
Once I had the first level of seasoning in, I layered it with sea salt. Going back and forth can give you layers, if you wish.
Next, since I really didn’t want layers – so I shook up the ornament to have everything mix together.
Once you have it mixed or layered, reattach the top to the ornament.
Next I used my Cricut to “make” the recipes. This could also be done by hand, if you have nice writing…now you see why I used my Cricut! 🙂
You can now decorate it however, you wish. I decided to cut out what looked like rosemary with my Cricut and attach it to a string and the recipe for the top of the ornament.
Just tie the string around the top and finish it as you wish…bow, knot, etc.
Now you can give them out to your friends and family to actually have a gift that they can use for the Christmas season.
Hope you like it! Please take a minute to leave me a comment and let me know what you would do different, or what you would add, etc. Be sure to tweet, pin, share, etc. – thanks!!

Thanks Miranda!
Totally Love this and doing it! Not to be a pain but how much of each spice do you put in? Or should I just eyeball it?
Hi Rachel, the mix is completely up to you. Pick what are your favorites and then go for it. This is for multiple meals, so it doesn’t matter. You could even just buy a mixed spice and put that in. 🙂
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE these, these make great gifts or package toppers! You are so fun and creative!!! LOVE!!!
Pinning this like totally like now!
You could even fill them with small candy – which would be perfect for a gift topper…might be using that one!! 🙂
