When reading the bible, and talking with friends at bible study, this is always a story that we wonder if we would be able to handle. Myself, being told that I would probably never have children, due to medical reasons, God took it upon Himself to bless my husband and I with a son. Knowing what Abraham had to do, I just don’t think that my faith would be as strong to take my son onto a hill and plan a sacrifice. I know the Lord, and know that He has plans for my life, there are just some things that I don’t think I’d be able to do. Forgive me for being honest, but Abraham having the strength to go through this and build that altar…he’s a more faithful person, than I think I could ever be.

After reading the story multiple times in the Bible, I wondered how a movie of this length could cover it. I like how they did scenes from back in the day and kind of got you ready for certain parts of it. The acting was great and the scenery was amazing. I still want to know where it was filmed. There were some parts that were a bit long, and scenes that dragged a bit, but I know it was to fill time, and it didn’t fully deter from the quality of the movie. I think everyone did a great job, and it really brought the story that we all read on paper, to life. I would definitely recommend it. I’m not sure if I would go to the theater to see it, to be honest, but that’s partly because our theater isn’t the most comfortable and I can make popcorn at home a lot cheaper.

I can’t wait for the director to come out with more films. There was a story at the beginning and end of the film, to show what he hopes it will help him to accomplish in the future. I think bringing up to date versions of the bible stories, helps those new in the faith and some just wanting a picture to go with the words, to learn even more. There were even some parts of the movie, that better explained some of the scriptures that I had read for a long time. Now I know, this is one person’s perspective, and not God’s true Word, but it helps to bring some of those words to life. Check out the review below, and enter the giveaway.
