So, as many of you know, my husband David, our son Dylan and I have started a UTV race team called Redneck Edition.  A lot of people ask us about the name and why we would pick that.  I guess my husband was at work and they were talking about one of the truck brands that was called “something-edition.”  He told the guys that his would have been called the “Redneck Edition” and that’s why it stuck.  Might have something to do with the truck he drives, not sure:
Most people in today’s world put negative definitions to the word “redneck”. Â We remember it as meaning those that worked hard, and ended up getting a sunburn from their labor. Â Just like our slogan says “Work Hard to Play Harder.” Â I found this a few months ago to further explain our reasoning behind the name:
My husband loves off-road racing and has always wanted to be a part of it. Â We had bought a Polaris RzR 900XP awhile back, and were so enjoying it on the mountain trails, he had the idea to convert it into a race vehicle and be able to have fun with our son on the race track.
We found out about a new series in Arizona called “Arizona Offroad Promotions.” Â They were a group that held races for UTV’s, motorcycles and quads…sometimes even trucks. Â It sounded like fun and was one that would actually fit our budget. Â There are some others that just cost way too much to even think about joining. Â This one had great rates and would be somewhat local to where we live. Â Granted, for most, we’d have to drive a way to get there, since we’re in the mountains.
I wanted to start a blog series on each of the races to keep you up to date on what was happening and also help spread the word about our amazing sponsors. Â We went around to a lot of local businesses and just asked if they wanted to be a part of the team. Â Coming from a small town, you know a lot of people, and so many were willing to help. Â It’s been amazing to be able to work with them all, and to help tell others about their amazing places.
So, what I want to do, is write up a post for each race that we go to. Â Share photos, share our experience and just keep you up to date on what is going on. Â I’ll probably keep this intro, just to keep people up to date, who have never seen the posts before (so if you’re coming back, just skip it). Â Be sure to check out all of our social media pages, to keep up as well. Â Thanks to everyone is backing us on this endeavor. Â It’s been fun to spend time as a family, enjoying what we love to do, and also for me (as a wife and mom) to see my husband and our son enjoying themselves….well, that’s when Dylan isn’t telling David to slow down, and things like that! ha/ha
