Time to Enjoy Some Soccer!!

Challenger Sports Soccer Camp 2024
THE NUMBER ONE SOCCER CAMP IN USA AND CANADA!!!

Camp Update:

I have a friend whose son really loves soccer, so I asked her if he would like to attend a soccer camp, and they were so excited.  They love how professional the coaches are, and the skills that the kids learn to take with them, later in life!  Here’s what my friend had to say about the soccer camp:

From Katie, Mom of Jude (11 years old )

Attended Challenger Sports Soccer Camp in Show Low, AZ – June 2024

“Jude had a great time at soccer camp this year! He loves the coaches and their “funny accents” as he calls them. He learned a lot this year and was very grateful for the opportunity. The fields were nice but lacked shade. Camp was held in the middle of summer and was very hot for the kids but overall they had a lot of fun! The coaches did provide ice water for them during the day and that was awesome! He is looking forward to next year!“

Here are some of the great photos that were taken at the camp:

Camp Update:

I have a friend whose Grandson is really starting to get into sports.  I asked her if he would like to attend a soccer camp, and they were thrilled.  We sign up for it months before, and I guess he kept asking when camp was going to be.  He couldn’t wait to go.  I just heard from his Mom, after she had let him attend for the week, and he was super excited about the great time that he had.  I heard it helped him to learn to work with others, and even taught him some new skills!  Here’s what my friend had to say about the soccer camp:

From Katie, Mom of Jude (8 years old )

Attended Challenger Sports Soccer Camp in Show Low, AZ – June 2022

“Jude learned awesome skills on how to dribble, pass, and be a good goalie! He developed many new skills and friendships. This was an awesome experience for him. They even ended the week with a water fight!“

Challenger Sports Soccer Camp 2021
THE NUMBER ONE SOCCER CAMP IN USA AND CANADA!!!

Camp Update:

Once again I had the chance to share this with a friend and her son loved it.  He started out a few years back a bit nervous…and now he’s like a pro.  I’ll be looking for him on the TV soon when that narrator guy is yelling “GOOOAAAAALLLL!!!!”  Here’s what my friend had to say about the soccer camp:

From Jessica, Mom of Xander (10 years old )

Attended Challenger Sports Soccer Camp in Lakeside, AZ – June 2021

“Another great year at Challenger Soccer Camp! My little player was thrilled to be back after having to miss last year due to the pandemic. It was awesome to get back on the field and have great coaches to help refine all the skills they have taught him over these past few summers. The coaches from Challenger are always so patient with all the different age groups, and make it fun for the kids to all learn together.“

Recently, I posted about going to Medieval Times years ago with my husband. Well, we finally got to go again!  A big thanks to America’s Family Network, USFamilyGuide and Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament in Scottsdale for the amazing weekend that we had!

We arrived in Scottsdale on Saturday morning, after about a three hour drive from our mountain town.  I was thankful that we went in January, since we didn’t have to deal with too much heat, but 70 sure feels warm after being in the 30’s and 40’s for so long!  My husband had found a great deal on a place to stay, called the Scottsdale Villa Mirage.  They were condos on the vacation rental site that slept 8.  Figuring we were going with my in-laws, our son & his girlfriend, plus my husband and I, it was easier than booking three hotel rooms and actually cost a bit less.   We checked in and were amazed at how everything looked.  If I’m ever in the area again, I’ll definitely try to stay another time!  Here are some photos of the condo:

This place was amazing.  If you’re in the area, check out Scottsdale Villa Mirage.

After checking in to the condo, and enjoying the area for a few hours, we headed out toward Medieval Times (we heard Dad call it “the Chicken Place,” and died laughing), which was only a few miles from where we were staying.  The parking lot was packed! We got there an hour and a half early, but we thought we were late.  It turned out, that they had 3 shows that day, and the other one was still in there.  Whew, that was close!

I had to take a photo in the parking lot.  Aren’t the Arizona sunsets amazing:

Okay, it’s time to go in…

Being that we did end up getting there early, we were able to upgrade our tickets, pay a bit extra and have closer seats, banners to wave and VIP badges.  It was so much fun!!

We enjoyed the huge entry hall, with the gift shops and bar…which had drinks that were huge!  My husband ordered me a Sangria, in a collector glass.  It turned out to be filled with the whole bottle!!  That was some good stuff!

The place really started to fill up with a lot of people, different ages, and different teams.  Everyone was super friendly, too.  I got to talk to a lady that was 91 years old, and in the area part time from Idaho…what a sweetheart!

About 10 minutes before 7:00 pm, they started calling in the teams…we were there to salute the “Red Knight.”  Getting to our seats, after walking down some steep steps, we had to sit really close to one another.  Be sure you like who you’re going with.   We were blessed to sit in the second row of our Red Knight team, and had an amazing view of everything going on.  The event started up with an beautiful light show, with fog machines in the center, that filled the whole arena.  I want some machines, like they had – it was awesome!!  Here are some photos of inside:

Once the welcome had finished, the festivities began.  We had beautiful horses that did amazing tricks, riders that jousted and fought with swords (that made sparks, which was cool), and so much more.  We were rooting for our Red Knight to win the tournament!

As the events were happening, we were served with dinner.  Tomato soup, garlic bread, chicken, corn & a potato.  All of this, you had to eat with your hands, since it was Medieval Times, after all.  It cracked me up to see some with plastic forks around us…they had obviously been there before, and didn’t want their hands dirty! ha/ha  Everything was delicious.  When dinner was done, we got a cup of ice cream and a wooden spoon.  That actually made us feel spoiled!   The evening ended with one of the other knights winning, but we all had an amazing time.  It’s definitely somewhere that I would love to go again, and bring others to enjoy it.  The customer service is amazing, the food was great and the animals seem to be treated very well, which made me even happier.

Again a huge thanks to America’s Family Network, USFamilyGuide and Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament in Scottsdale for the amazing weekend.  We would definitely recommend it to anyone who loves a fun time with family and/or friends!

Here’s what a friend said about the Renaissance Festival Arizona 2020, and photos she shared:

Renaissance Festival 2020. Beautiful weather, and less crowded . We had a stress-free, fun-filled day slowly strolling thru all the shops, letting the kids each pick out their treasures. This year we got to go on Celtic weekend, and loved watching the bagpipes and dancing. The elephants have been replaced with pony rides, but my little cowgirl didn’t seem to mind at all. Also added to the petting zoo was a Unicorn! Every little princess’ dream come true. We ventured away from turkey legs, and tried the yummy BBQ pork shank and yummy mashed potatoes this time around…Loved it!

I remember going to Medieval Times years ago, when my husband and I were just dating. Wow, that’s a long time ago, now that I try and remember. I think it was in about 1998 or so, in the Buena Park, CA area. His parents invited us to go, and we had such a great time. The meal was amazing, and being able to enjoy the show of horses and costumes, was one that I still remember. Here’s photo of us WAY BACK when:

The new Medieval Times location in Scottsdale, Arizona is now open. It’s still a few hours away from us, but so worth the drive. We cannot wait to take our son and his girlfriend to enjoy the event. Hopefully it will make memories for them, as it did for us years ago! Always a wonderful place to spend time together with friends and/or family.  Who would you love to take with you for an evening to Medieval Times?  Leave a comment, and let me know.  Then head over and enter for some tickets on their site (link below).

Here’s what a friend of ours had to say about the event this year:

“My family had a blast again this year at the Arizona Renaissance Festival. We enjoyed perfect weather, delicious food and lots of great entertainment. We watched the “Snorkel the Pig” show, which I believe was a new attraction this year. It was adorable for the kids, and funny for even the adults. We stopped by the “Wylde Men” show as we always do, and it didn’t let us down. Our friends picked up a beautiful Candle by an amazing artist, and the kids got their normal adorable souvenir. Can’t wait to go yet again in the future!”

My son is a bit too old for soccer now, but I have a friend whose son wanted to go again. He was so excited to go for the second year, and I was blessed to be able to share the tickets with his family.  He had even more fun this year, and was so much more involved! Here’s what the family said about the soccer camp:

From Jessica, Mom of Xander (8 years old )

Attended Challenger Sports British Soccer Camp in Lakeside, AZ from June 17th – 21st

“So this past week, my little man got to participate in a Challenger Soccer Camp in Lakeside, AZ. He had an absolutely amazing week!! Last year at camp, my son was nervous and not very great at sports in general. This camp has given him huge leaps of self confidence. He shines on the field now, and is excited to return to camp every year. The coaches are so patient with the kids, and make the sport so much fun. We can’t thank Challenger Sports enough for such an amazing opportunity.“

Here are some of the great photos that were taken at the camp:

I’ve seen ads for 1000 Bulbs online, but have never shopped with them before. When I saw the info about them on US Family Guide, I figured it was a great time to try them out. I trust US Family Guide’s opinions of certain companies, and products that they offer.

I headed over to the site and felt like a kid in a toy shop. There were so many options. Holiday lights, LED panels, and the antique/vintage style (that I love!). I found some patio string lights that I figured would be perfect for our outdoor gazebo. I placed my order online, which was super simple and my package was there in just a few days. That was quick!!

When I opened my box, I couldn’t believe the quality of the patio string lights. I figured that they would be the cord thickness of Christmas lights, but these were heavy duty and super sturdy. Perfect for our cool times of the year and outdoor use. I was super impressed with how they felt and were made. Heading to the garage, I got out the ladder and started attaching the string to the frame of the gazebo. Figuring that they would just be long enough for about three (3) of the sides, I was super excited to see that they wrapped all the way around our 10′ x 15″ gazebo perfectly. Plenty of leftover cord to go down the back pole just perfectly.

Now I only had to run an extension cord to the power source, and I was set!! I cannot wait to have some outdoor parties with these great lights up around us. Before, when the sun went down, it just got too dark to continue to entertain. Now with the 1000 Bulbs set, I can stay out even later. I love them!!

Here are some photos after I got them on during the day:

Here’s a photo that I took in the evening:

Here are some photos after my husband and I had taken the topper off for the winter – I wanted to see if they would still be useful, and they are:

Here’s more information on the set that I got:

Challenger Sports – British Soccer Camp

From Jessica, Mom of Xander (6 years old ) – Attended Challenger Sports British Soccer Camp in Taylor, AZ from June 25th – 29th.  “I just wanted to give a shout out to the British Soccer Camp. My son has not been part of any sports teams before this week. He was exited to give soccer a try, and I thought a week of camp would be great to see if a whole season of regular soccer would be a good idea. At the beginning of this week, he was very timid and even sat out some of the activities because he felt like he wasn’t getting it, but Coach Ben was so patient with him, and after what had to be non-stop encouragement, he began to participate! By the end of this amazing camp he felt completely ready to tackle the city soccer team!  Thanks again for this fun program.“
