In today’s world, it’s so hard to think about what our kids can see on their phones, and the internet that is on them. Back when I was young, the only cell phone belonged to a guy in a Rolls Royce, and was the size of a brick!! Now, it seems that kids in Kindergarten are holding smartphones and it scares me.

With the world as sick as it is, and the way that people are able to feed this negative world view, porn and bullying through something as small as a deck of cards, it’s hard to fathom. I loved it when I heard that we now had an option. Radiant Mobile is coming out with a way that we can keep our families safe (not just our kids) from this sick world. Having blocks for the negative stuff and letting us stand up to the cell phone & internet companies as to what is right and wrong. I was so impressed!!

We need to try harder as parents, friends, or whatever you are to make sure to keep this negative world view away from our kids, our husbands, our families, and anyone that would be prone to sin, because of it. If you’re anything like me, you’ve sat and wondered about the earth and everything in it. How did it get here? Why are sunflowers yellow? There are so many different questions. I remember in school hearing about the big bang theory and the monkey-like person/thing that they gave a name. Sometimes I just sat and shook my head in history and science class. How the heck would you be able to know that something was 2 billion years old? Where does that come from? It just did not make sense to me.

We had a gentleman by the name of Russ Miller visit our church one day. His mission is to confirm Biblical Truth and expose misinterpretations of God’s creation in order to exalt Jesus Christ as our Creator, Judge and redeeming Savior. Taking a tour of the Grand Canyon with him, opened my eyes so much as to why the teachings in some of our schools for many years was so untrue! Why are there seashells at the top of the Grand Canyon? Hearing about “The Story of Everything,” I figured that this would be some insight on space and the earth’s creation. It sure was. Now, I’m going to apologize up front, but the beginning of this movie was boring. They were talking about the worldly beliefs and millions of years. Every time I hear that, I shake my head and roll my eyes. So untrue!

Well, watching the full thing, I see that it was build-up for the ending. Letting you see the one side, until they tell us theirs. It makes sense after you watch it. I just personally wish that they could have made it a bit more exciting. I really don’t want to see the guy sitting in a chair talking. Show me something!! …but that’s just me. I received an email from Jean with Momentum and went straight to the trailer of the movie.  It was a bit of a different side of the Angel channel, from what I’ve seen, but I thought it looked interesting.

Watching the movie, it made me pray for our world, as it is now.  There is so much of the stuff with drugs and sin in our world, and a lot of times, we don’t even know about it.  This made me scared for our youth.  I know when I was young (a long time ago), we dealt with things like this, but it seemed like it was more innocent and not as scary.  I know in our Search and Rescue training, we are taught about these types of drugs, and have heard stories about the local police and sheriff who have had to have medical treatment, due to touching something like this in a criminal’s car.  It is just so scary!

I remember the days of high school.  Trying to fit in, trying to look good.  I’ll tell you, that I wish the way of life we have in our 50’s was something we had back them.  Not caring about being part of some type of group, not wanting to impress someone with the rules that you break.  It’s such a different type of life, and I am loving it.

I’m definitely praying for our youth though.  I hope they know that there are people who have dealt with things like this, ones you can talk with who will not judge.  Make sure if it’s you, to look into some type of help.  Don’t ruin your life, because of what one person said about you, or told you you should be or do.  God loves you just as you are, and will work in you to make you better.

Everyone reaches a moment where they feel exhausted, defeated, or ready to quit.  Just One More is about what happens when someone finds the courage to keep going anyway.  This is a story about second chances. Upcycled Plastic Christmas Tree

Is it really almost Christmas?  I just can’t believe how fast time is going by.  I’m one to start Christmas shopping on December 26th for the next year, but it seems like this year I was a bit behind on my shopping list.  There were just a few people left, and I usually get them a gift certificate for a local restaurant, or something like that.  This year, I wanted something a bit more exciting than just a small box, or a card.

I saw something like this on Pinterest, that someone found a pizza storage box (didn’t even know those existed) at their local Dollar Store.  Well, I ran to mine and of course, there was nothing like it available.  Our mountain stores never have the products that people say are available online. Darn!! Well, back home to start looking online.  Found some on the website for shopping and placed my order.  Now, I’ll just have to wait a bit.

Low and behold, the mailman was here with the box within just a few days and I was able to get to work!  It was super simple and turned out pretty cute.  I hope you enjoy this craft idea.  If you end up making one, be sure and share a photo on my FB page, with what you come up with.  I’d love to see it!  I sure hope that you like the tutorial, and pray that you have a blessed day!

Materials/Tools Used:

• Pizza Plastic Storage Box
• Candy
• Gift Card
• Stickers
• Glue Dots/Tape
• & Time!

Instructions for the Christmas Tree:

Head to the dollar store, and if you’re lucky, you’ll find some pizza storage boxes.  If you’re like me, and not lucky, go online and place an order.  Start by attaching the gift card or certificate to the front part of the “tree.”

Next, start filling your storage box with any type of candy that you think the person will like for their gift.

Check that it closes pretty tightly, to help the gift card not fall off.  You could add other objects, or just more candy – totally up to you.  When that’s done, you can start “decorating” your tree.  I just used some ornament stickers and a gold star for the top of the tree.  You could add pom-poms, garlands, or whatever you’d like.  Make it simple, or go crazy!!

You’re all set.  Now you can just set it under the tree, or give it to someone early, if you’d like.  Super simple to make and the storage container can continue to be used for years to come!!

Change Your Life with a Good ZENatude!

I was recently able to read the new ZENatude – ZenTen book from Tamra Leigh Earlywine. Tamra is the daughter of our neighbors, and I never knew that she had such amazing writing skills.  I saw online that she had became a life coach, but really had no idea what that was truly about, or what it can do for someone’s life.

Her new book was one that her sweet Mom brought over, and asked me to read. I usually never have extra time anymore, but after I started reading it, I couldn’t really stop. I read the whole book in about two days and that was just reading in the evenings. Her style of writing is just fun. It’s like you’re sitting down with a friend, talking about the day, and learning from each other’s past mistakes and triumphs. There were so many great tips, and little nuggets of amazing information.

I worried about the ZEN thing at first. I’m not into feeling my aura, or talking to rocks, like some of what you hear ZEN things being. I went in with a bit of a security net, but after reading just about half of the first chapter, I realized that her version of ZEN is just peaceful living. Living your life the best that you can, in the way that YOU, YOURSELF, want to live it. That really made a difference in my perception of the book.

I feel now at the end, that the top one for me was Chapter 6, titled “Get Your Kicks.” It cracked me up, because I’m totally into the Route 66 stuff, and kept thinking of the song while I was reading it. That title just made it that much more personal to me.

The chapter focuses on just having some fun. In today’s world, where it all leans on work and adulting, there are times that I just want to jump in my Jeep, hit the dirt and enjoy life! Now I feel after reading this, that there’s absolutely nothing wrong with doing that once in awhile. It actually helps to make the time of work and responsibility that much better! When you’re grounded and at peace, you can focus more and live better. I just loved it.

Every chapter had something that I took away from it. I definitely want to keep it near me (so I already bought a copy for myself), and be able to read it again a few more times, and then some. Using the questions in each chapter, and focusing on certain things will really help me to change some of the way that I live.

A big thanks to Tamra for bringing out some great thoughts and ideas, for helping me to learn more about ZEN life, and just seeing her photo on her website, which always makes me smile! This book is definitely one that I would recommend!

The second book of the series was another great story in the trilogy of Fly!! I loved it!! Don’t want to give anything away, but some of what I hoped for in the last review actually happened!! YES!!!

It’s always so great to read a story where you’re rooting for people, or thinking of them like friends and want them to succeed, and reach their goals.  Doc does a great job to draw you in and make you a part of the story.  The day I get to see these books on the big screen is going to be a great one!!  People might think that I’m weird when I’m yelling out in support of the group of books that I read years ago.  It’ll be like the RH Picture Show of the 21st century.  Movie at midnight where we are all dancing in the rows!! Well, maybe not that, but I’ll be like a proud Mama when I see Doc’s dream light up the movie theater.

The third book has already been released.  Give me a bit of time, and I’ll be reviewing that one, as well.  This story is amazing and so much fun to read.  Great job on the second one, my friend!  I truly recommend these series of books for young adult to older.

I was told to review the series and post about episode 5. I couldn’t just jump that far in, so had to start watching from the beginning. When I got to episode 5, I was hooked. The story starts out like a Hunger Games, or it seems to me.  Once you understand what’s happening, you can see the biblical aspects of everything.  I know we always read the bible and think of the people in their long gowns and sandals.  Seeing people that represent today’s world, really made the biblical data easier to understand.  I know it’s not 100% spot on for what we read in God’s Word, but when they quote scripture and deal with the same things that we’ve read about, it really brings it close to home.

I really love seeing the change into modern day and how so many different people can all get together in a shared belief and have it turn into a ripple effect, reaching so many.  I can’t wait to continue watching and seeing more films/series that are this type of topic.  I’ve love the Angel streaming service before, and the Testament series make me love it even more.
