Make a Teacher Survival Kit

With school starting here in the mountains of Arizona next week, I thought it would be fun to come up with some ideas for teacher or classroom gifts.

The next three (3) of my craft posts, including this one, will be things that you can make for your favorite teacher or classroom.  This one is kind of like a fun gift to give to that person that you know well, or think that they will enjoy.  Just a way to bring a smile and help them continue to enjoy the school year.

It was really easy to put together, and could be changed out to whatever you would like…or think that they would like!  Just some fun treats, and things that will make your favorite teacher smile!  I sure hope that you like it!  Have a blessed day, and please be sure to comment on, and share this craft on your social media channels – thanks!

How To Make a Teacher Survival Kit

Materials/Tools Used:

  • Flip-Top Sport Water Bottle
  • Ribbon or String
  • Small Frame
  • Paper
  • Printer
  • Gum, Candy, Aspirin, Treats
  • Socks, Etc.
  • & Time!

Instructions:

I started by adding some candy, pens, erasers, comfy socks, aspirin (just in case) and other fun items that a teacher would enjoy to have.

After it was completely stuffed, I put the lid back on, making sure the straw had a place to be inserted.

survival

Next, I made  a small art piece to attach to the lid of the water bottle.  This could be anything that matches what the person you are making it for is about.  I decided to attach a bible verse about teaching that she could put on her desk during the year to bring a smile. I make the piece for the frame on Picture It!

survival

After I had printed it out, I trimmed it down to fit the frame.

survival

Now, I attached the frame to the top of the water bottle with ribbon.

survival

After that, I started working on a bow for the top.  I’m not the best bow maker in the world, so I used my Bow-DaBra to cheat! 🙂

survival

I then attached it to the top of the bottle for a bit of decoration.

survival

I decided I wanted something else on the front to show it was a teacher gift, so I started making a little apple with a worm piece to tie on the front.

survival

Using just a short piece of the ribbon that I had already used, I tied it to the top through the hole that I had punched out.

survival

Now you can make someone’s day with your teacher gift.  Tell them thank you for all that they do, and bring a smile to their face!

survival

I hope you like it!  Please take a minute to leave me a comment.  Let me know what you would do different, or what you would add, etc.  Be sure to tweet, pin, share, etc. – thank you!!

This is an adorable teacher survival kit! I like how you included everything they would need to survive a hectic day in the classroom. I didn’t know Yahoo had their own candy either. 😉

Thank you for sharing this with us on the #HomeMattersParty.
