Make a Minion Treat Box

This last week has been crazy.  My son is with his grandparents in CA, and I figured that I would have so much time for crafting, catching up with work, etc., but you know how life goes!!  I finally had time to sit down and figure one out for this week.

We’ve all heard that the new Minion movie is coming out soon…I think I’m more excited than our son…so I wanted to make something that went with that.  I figured that no matter what time of year it is, treat boxes can always come in handy.  You can surprise the kids with them during the day for a snack, put them in someone’s lunch to bring out some laughs at work, or even use them for storing pencils, crayons, etc.  Whatever it is, they are always fun!

I hope you like it!! Have a blessed day, and please be sure to comment on, and share this craft on your social media channels – thanks!!

Make a Minion Treat Box

Materials/Tools Used:

  • Craft Paper
  • Cricut
  • Glue or Sticky Tape
  • Candy, Etc.
  • & Time!

Instructions:

I started by using my Cricut Explore to create a box.  This was actually from a Halloween themed cartridge for a grave stone looking box, but I figured it was the perfect shape for a Minion. Start by cutting out the glasses and pupils on black paper:

Once those are finished, you can cut out the “jeans” on blue paper:

Next, cut out the pupils on white paper, and after that, use some yellow paper to cut out the box:

Now that you have them all cut out, you can start to assemble it.  Fold the box on the seams, so that it’s ready to put together.

Using some glue or sticky tape, add it to the small folds to attach the sides to the front and back.  Let it sit for a bit to dry.

Next, using the glue, attach the “jeans”, the glasses, and the eye pieces.

Then using a black marker, just draw on a mouth, the front overall pocket and any details that you wish.

Now you can put whatever you want inside, and just insert the tab into the opening to close it up.

You can use these for birthday parties, or any other time you would love to see a smile on someone’s face.

I hope you like it!  Please take a minute to leave me a comment, and let me know what you would do different, or what you would add, etc.  Be sure to tweet, pin, share, etc. – thank you!!
