caneLearn to Make a Candy Cane Vase

I saw something like this online and thought it would be super simple to make, and you could add anything you wanted to make it personal, etc.  This one is easy, inexpensive and is great to decorate any room, or even give as a gift!  I just got some artificial flowers to put in it, but you could add other candy, pens/pencils, or whatever your recipient would enjoy.  It would be great for at the office, too.  You could share the candy and maybe even sweeten some people up!

I hope you like it!! Have a blessed day, and please be sure to comment on and share this fun #Christmas craft!!

Candy Cane Vase

Materials/Tools Used for Each:

  • (1) Glass Vase or Cup
  • Candy Canes
  • Ribbon
  • Glue/Rubber Band
  • Pliers
  • Flowers, Etc.
  • & Time!

Candy Cane Vase Instructions:

I started by finding a glass cup that was a bit shorter than the candy canes that I found at the dollar store.  Each was wrapped, so it’s perfect for using at the office, classroom, etc.

Next, I put a rubber band around the glass and started inserting the candy canes next to each other tightly around the whole piece.

Using some dots of glue, I attached a ribbon around the candy canes to hide the rubber band.  This can be done with whatever material, color, or type that you want.

I then used some pliers to cut some Christmas flowers from their main stem and shorten each piece to fit into the cup.

I arranged them around to fill the space and add some depth to the piece.

Now you can just display it wherever you want, or even give it as a gift.

I hope you like it!  Please take a minute to leave me a comment.  Let me know what you would do different, or what you would add, etc.  Be sure to tweet, pin, share, etc. – thanks!!

Such a cute and simple project but with my boys the candy canes would disappear over night! I’d have to glue gun them in place and still I am sure they’d be gone by dawn.

Awe, that Candy Cane Vase is so adorable! Even I could make that, I’m not at all crafty. I need a centerpiece also and not much money to buy one. A Candy Cane Vase, especially made by me, would make me smile, thank-you for sharing!
